Default EPS Sanity?

I wanted to check my sanity and/or see if I'm just being paranoid...

When I turn my key into the ON position several gauges on the dash light up (SRS, ABS, Check Engine, EPS, etc.)...then they all go away except for one...EPS. This light will stay on forever until I hit the "Engine Start" button. Then it goes away. Is this normal? For some reason I have never noticed the EPS light staying on until this evening (and power steering is working fine by the way). Maybe someone can verify this on their car. :-)

Thanks!

I don't think it's normal, but I did look in the owner's manual and it says to try to reset it by restarting the engine. I seem to recall that this has happened to other members in the past. The manual goes on to say "with the light on, the EPS is turned off, making the car harder to steer." So I'm guessing you should notice a difference.

...then again, the owner's manual refers to the S2000 as an Acura somewhere in the manual, so it probably doesn't have all the right answers.

I'm new to the S2000 - so apologies if I'm wrong!
BUT my manual says 'this light normally comes on when you turn the ignition ON(II) and goes off after the engine starts'. Mine does this - I thought it was normal.

Aaackkk! I have to stop posting so late at night (or early in the morning ) I completely skipped over the part where he wrote "until I hit the engine start button".

Doh! Yes, I would expect that this is normal and quite trivial.
