Yep, use it all the time in the spring and fall, winter if it is not raining. However the heated jackets make it feel like we have heated seats. I tend to drive with the side windows down so when it is in the 30s, it can be a bit chilly even with the S's heater going all out in the top down mode. Heck, lots of cars have heated seats and they most assuredly are not convertibles.

May not be very warm, but I bet it's pretty quiet, even with all the windows and roof down, and the heater going full blast, right?

Thanks, I did know about that “hot tub” mode though

There are a lot of 2 lane roads where I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Quiet in the cockpit. When I am on a freeway, though, the noise from trucks and off road tires can be high so I will raise the windows. Top up it is pretty calm and you can have a normal conversation. I have noticed that when passing a truck/loud vehicle, there is a zone right behind the window of the soft top that is pretty NVH transparent. I took a triangle of thick Thinsulate and stuffed it in that spot to help kill the noise. Not perfect but it helps.

SOUND CHECK!
Ok, nice day today for a drive, top up or down so I did a decibel check, decibel meter app on phone... TWICE! Driving a nice little empty 2 lane road in front of my house, 11 miles to the next town so enough for a test.
Top up in the garage, high idle test 91 db.. heading down the road 60-65mph 5th gear, 91db, 6th gear 92 db.. Hmmm seemed more different to me! Got to that town and put the top down and headed back.. same road, same speed, 5th and 6th gear and same results.. something is up! screamed at the top ov my lungs at the phone.. 91db, then dropping to 77 after the scream even though the car was at same speed, same gear.So I whistled at it, and boy can I whistle!! Same results as the scream! Got back home and downloaded a different app and did it all again...

Top down..
Idle 71.5 db
60-65mph 5th gear ... 85db avg
60-65 mph 6th gear... 84.6 db avg

Top up
Idle 69 db
60-65 mph 5th gear 82 db avg
60-65 mph 6th gear 83.7 db avg
So driving down this road (new app had an avg level) for each test I drove about a mile or so, a little ups and downs so a good test I think. A little quieter with the top up even though it seemed the other way around to me. Did my scream and whistle test again to see what this app did with it, both spiked at about 105 or so. Sure glad I changed apps to do the testing, made a HUGE difference!

So a while back I did a sound check on the exhaust on my car here Stock exhaust.. - S2KI Honda S2000 Forums , when I get help I'll have to redo those numbers with the new app and update them...

Thanks!

Good baseline. Be interesting what sound levels are when your project is compete. Interim tests will be useful as well.

Ok, so update here again... I started exploratory surgery on this thing. I dont know if you remember or know but this all started with me wanting to change the radio and speakers in this car, at that time it was recommended to me to do some sound deadening as long as I was tearing into this thing. Stereo HU has already been replaced and dash controls returned to operating condition, received a set of speakers for Christmas and had been researching products to quiet it down. Got all my materials in hand so I went to have a look at things today, speakers seem to be a problem as they wont fit in the speaker "cups" in the door as they are larger than the stock ones that came in the car. Modifry to the rescue yet again.. Ordering a set of thier speaker rings to make the change easy and neat, so I am on hold till I receive those. To be continued!

I almost pulled the trigger on new speakers and Modifry speaker rings but I wanted to get the NVH job done and not string it out. Actually, with a new HU from Sony and the plug and play stuff from Modifry, I was pleasantly surprised how well the stock 2009 speakers sounded with a lot more power and sound deadening in the doors.

I am curious how it will work out for you.

My biggest problem is the passenger side speaker has got a good crackle to it.. need it changed.
