Looking at an S2k is this a good deal?
In dont think thats a great deal, but it sounds like it would be a convenient purchase, which, for me, is worth that money. For a little more smack you may want to look into an 06+ for the VSA. As a DD in an area with the 4 seasons the VSA will protect you. The racelogic traction control can also save your arse and is fairly priced at a little over 1k and not to bad to install, from what I hear, which can be had for all S2000's without dbw. At the very least do yourself a solid if you get the 04 and buy a good set of Ultra High Performance all season tires and install them when the temps dip into the 40's ... even with the traction control cars it is irresponsible to drive with summer only tires on an S in colder climates .. 'IT' just happens to quickly!

Just to let you know that theres someone here locally selling an 06 with 19k miles on it for $22k. Then again there someone selling an 01 for $19k but thats a different story. Honestly I'd offer 20k otd or wait for a good deal. Patience pays off.
Which would you rather have.... a crappy car with a great warranty, or great car with a crappy warranty?
I personally would prefer the latter, so I'd spend the money and time to get the best car possible. You can't trust the dealer to deliver you a good car any more than a private seller (where do you think dealers get their cars?). Don't let them fool you into thinking that they performed any real inspection/repair.
BTW: In 06 the Honda increased the warranty to 60k....
