i know what you mean.. ive been reading posts from 6-7 months ago, and it seems like guys were getting better deals than what i can find now.. i am just not getting it. it makes me so reluctant on pulling the trigger on the S because it seems like im not getting a good deal.
I think there was a period where things started to really TANK.. I was reading posts about people getting new CRs for like 26k, but it seems like there was a rebound.

Maybe because the S is such an impractical toy, and the economy was brutal.

I would rather pay more now, knowing sellers are holding firm, and keeping the market high.

i am also looking at an 07 with about 18K miles for about $20-21,000 plus TT&L. does this seem like a better deal than an 08 with 37K miles? thanks in advance

This sounds like one of the better deals in the last few weeks:
2006 45,940 miles $15,999, but the wheels are from the pre-04 models? Worth a look or fishy? http://www.elvistaautosales.com/VehicleDet...=1531&zip=95354

Looks like a theft recover/auction car the dealer rebuilt. The body is rough IMO. I would not say `06 w/ 45k @$16k is a deal in that condition.

Just to get a used set of AP2v2 wheels you will pay $350-950 depending on condition, market, tires or lack of. ~$1k to put the correct headlamps on it. Another $300+ for the correct taillamps. Hours of labor for that and the body work. Whether you pay or DIY it costs time period. The headlamps won't have decent resale unless you wet sand, compound and polish them. All that on a quick glance of a slide show. Worst deal I've seen to date. Market value for me and that car $7-8k maybe $9k due to mileage, I haven't seen one that beat w/o 100k+ on the OD. To much glare in the photos for me to evaluate the top and the interior. But the outlook is not good IMO.
Sweet, thanks for the detailed analysis (I'm a noob ). Saved me a trip!

LET THIS ONE GO!!!
Did you check the seller feedback on this dealer? There are only 33 transactions and he has a 76% positive feedback score. If you read the details of the feedback, there were LOTS of problems with cars that were undisclosed.

I do a lot on eBay and the feedback scores give you good information. The feedback profile on this seller is TERRIBLE.

Just walk away.

guys i have pretty much narrowed my search down for 4 cars...

please give me your thoughts on how much i should offer and settle on for these vehicles.. all are low mileage vehicles that are 06+. none of them are being sold at honda which means only the 08 has factory warranty left.

1. 06 with 28k miles asking $21,000
2. 07 with 32k miles asking 22,000
3. 07 with 18k miles asking $23,500
4. 08 with 13k miles asking $25,000

keep in mind these are all asking prices. I havent really negotiated with any dealer yet as i am trying to close the deal at the end of the month.. TIA!

I've been looking for a while too and have seen several cars now. The best prices are on 04s and 05s even if their mileage is LOWER than 06s and 07s. I have seen an 06 with 60k for 19900 and an 04 with 27k for 17900. The cars are out there, some are even priced very well. One of the most surprising places I have seen really decent prices (not all of them are, but a lot) is www.carmax.com. The best prices are always with individual sellers, but I prefer having a 60 day warranty and someone who can be held accountable to the quality of the vehicle they are selling. But that's just me. All the advice I was given on waiting and taking my time is paying off. Hopefully have an S by the end of the month!

Good luck with your search and purchase!

hey man thanks for your input. i am really interested in just an 06+ because of traction control and didnt want to get something more than 5 years old. where are you located? though people have been getting better and worse deals i think its better to keep myself sane and just get what i want.. $500 either way in my case is about $10-15 a month in payments. But in my situation i need to get a car locally because missing work and travel time would really work against me. good luck with your search as well, i am trying to finalize a deal by the end of this month too!

FYI- I just purchased an excellent 2004 with less then 6,000 miles for $16,700.

Give me $22,000 and it is yours.

2001 spa
210,000kms
new tires
9,500 CAD.

I plan on driving it in the winter so I don't want to ruin a nice low mileage S2K, but I don't know about 210,000kms which is like 130,000 miles.
