Honestly if you think that is the right car for you, then you will buy it no matter how much it is. Even at $16k your not getting ripped off if it is in very good condition, mechanically and cosmetically. I would probably only spend $14,500 on it because you can get one just like that for around 12-12,500 without a hardtop. Then you can find nice hardtops here on the forum for around $2000. So $14,500 is what I would do for it. Maybe $15k if I really wanted it.
Appreciate the advice and I agree. Just seems like up here where it rains that hard tops are few and far between and I like the added security but what you said makes sense. Thanks

That supercharger would be fun......

13.5k sounds like a good starting point. That may be a bit of a lowball offer, but at the same time, i don't have to buy it (even though I really want to) this is the second super deal that came up in my area. There should be more eventually.

First one was a white 2001 with 53k miles and it was in excellent condition. $9600. I couldn't afford it at the time. So now about 9 months later this one comes along. There will surely be more in the future.

Thanks pun.

I don't know about the Canadian market, but in the states you can buy an '05 with less than 50,000 miles (80,000kms) for this price.

He actually wants 15,000.

I'm looking at an 02 Suzuka in the states for 13,000 which would be a tad more expensive than this one and it only has 48,000 miles. I just don't feel like flying down there and then driving it back, having to stay in a hotel and going through the RIV stuff.

This one is a 3 and a half hour drive from my place.

I'm not sure how low he's willing to go since his asking price is 15,000.

Whay should I offer him, considering I'm in Canada and S2k's were 50,000 brand new.

I offered him 12,500.

Hi y'all,

I been wanting a S2k since 2001 or so, when ever it is when I joined S2ki. Haven't had the chance in the past due to overseas assignments, deployments, or just not financially ready.

Now I am living back in the states and financially sound. Plus, my wife and I are looking to start trying for our first baby next month. Therefore, I want to get the S2k in the next few months. I think it'll be really hard for me to find the funding after doing all of my investments/rent/utilities to buy another toy after having a kid. Currently have 8 vehicles, all paid off.

This car has been on craigslist since Nov. Started out at $14k or above. Been at $13.2k for the past 7 weeks. There isn't a huge market for convertibles here in Ohio since there is lots of snow.

I really want a 2003 GPW, but I guess 2002 works as long as the plastic window isn't messed up. It will be mainly for trackdays (maybe future race car) and for canyon carving. May drive it for DD in the summer.

What do you guys think? Price to high? Wanted to get some inputs before driving an hour or so to check it out. What would be a good price and what would be a bargain price? There are other S2k in the 50 mile radius with similar mileage and price but they aren't what.

Thanks,
Frank

From craigslist:

"The white with red leather S2000 is the rarest color combo to see on the road and trust me, it turns heads! Only 67k. Mint condition. Stock as Wallstreet, never been toyed with at all. The car has always been garaged. Never been in any accidents, in fact there are only a couple rock chips on the car. $13,200, no low balling please, ive had enough of that already. The car is beautiful and in flawless shape."

I think the price is a little too high. But GPW is a rare color so they do come with a premium price tag especially with red leather. Ithink you should go for it. You will no regret buying this car. Purchase with confidence.
