-Official- Is this car worth it thread
it's a gamble when you buy a previously boosted car with the boost components removed.
here's the cons:
1. it's easy to run lean on boost, depending on the previous tune, the owner probably had a good tune or not.
2. certain parts may have been modified (stock FPR bored out in the case of a vortech SC) which may give you bad driveability in N/A.
3. certain parts may have been replaced (thicker headgasket for example) which may give you less power in N/A trim.
4. if clutch is stock you'll be expecting to replace it soon.
here's some pros (unless also removed):
1. the clutch maybe aftermarket already and can handle more power in the future.
2. the fuel pump maybe aftermarket already (will be noisy though).
3. you may have a bung/tap already in your oil pan if you decide to go boost in the future.

As the car sits, it still has the Comptech SC installed as well as the wheels you see in the pictures.
They are saying that if it were to be sold at said asking price that the SC would THEN be removed upon purchase or can be added on at additional cost which is ridiculous.
I am saying that if i WERE to get this car I would definitely leave the SC in, but as it sits would this car be worth paying something like 10K for with wheels and SC intact.

Digressing from the boosted FS car above.
A lot of folks have made the suggestion to wait until the middle of winter to purchase an S2000. Been in the hunt for a month and a half and am wondering what the inventory during the winter months will be like. I assume most people would just wait it out and sell the car during the summer.
My predicament is that sellers are asking way above KBB / NADA value as they should (more power to them, as long as they find buyers). If I wait for the winter months, I assume pricing will be more aligned to KBB / NADA or even below but I also assume inventory on the market will be reduced. Anyone have insight into how much on average prices are lowered during the winter?
I initially looked in the Bay Area only and that didn't turn up any vehicles in the price range I wanted so I've expanded the search and am looking at an S in NC. However you pretty much have to tack on $500 - $1000 depending on whether or not you are flying there and driving it back or shipping it over unseen.
Thoughts?

Does anyone think something like this is a good deal???
Side note : LBP was the original S2000 color I was going to buy before I settled for Silverstone.
