What would you guys offer for a 2006 LBP with 50,000 miles? Second owner, bought from carmax, clean title, one small dent on the front fender. Havent got a VIN yet though so we'll see what carfax says. Asking 18,0000 but I think 16800 would be a reasonable offer. Any suggestions on an offer?

I’ve never tried to sell a car before and I’m a bit paranoid about it.
What is it worth?
What is the safest way to have them pay for it?
Should I let anyone drive it alone?
And so on…

I listed it on Craigslist last night and I’ve got three people wanting to see it. Lookie loo’s, not asking enough?

2000 Silverstone Metallic Honda S2000 with 7344 miles as of 03/10/2011

The car passed smog February of 2010 and the oil and filter change was done in December of 2010. They also did a Multi-Point inspection. They only fund the battery cable to be corroded and cleaned it.

First model year for the S2000 with a unique silver color not used latter on.

The car is in very good shape. Was always covered or (as it is now) in the garage. The windshield wipers are like new and were only use on the ride home from the dealer, then removed. I have now reinstalled them. Never drove the car on rainy days. There are a few small chips in the paint. The plastic rear window is in good condition (clear) but has a scratch. There is also a small mark on the inside passenger door. All the marks are very small and would need to be pointed out.

Honda alarm system was added by the dealer.

I have:
Touchup paint.
All the manuals and guides.
The original brochure and window sticker.
Like new soft top cover. Only used it two or three times.
Soft top well mat to protect the plastic window.
Custom front mask/bra. Used a few times, difficult to fit to the car.
Like new original Honda floor mats used for a few months and a custom set that is well used.
Installed the Honda wind dampener between the two headrests.
All original keys and remotes. Second key and remote (still in plastic) were never used along with the valet key and metal serial tag.
The Front license plate and bracket. Never used and the plugs are still in the front bumper.
Set of alterative emblems for the car, got them but decided not to install them.
Original shift knob and installed titanium shift knob.
Installed the cargo bag/net behind the passenger seat.

Anti-Theft Radio ID card, still in plastic. The original receiver and speakers. Replaced with two way poly speakers and JVC NX-5000 receiver with DVD playback and hard drive based NAV and MP3 storage. The Honda CD changer is also installed but is only used with the original receiver. Added hardware so the new receiver can be controlled by the built-in dash controls. There is also a switch to toggle the DVD playback while moving.

Holy low mileage. How much are you asking for it?

When selling a car I would prefer cash. If they pay with a check, tell them you will have to wait until the check clears to sign over the title. That way there is no way they can rip you off. I would NEVER let somebody test drive my S alone. I would first give them a ride in it, and if they are still very serious about it, let them drive it for a little bit and ride along with them. When selling my old 300zx I made the mistake of letting some goons test drive it by themselves (their car was at my house so I said whatever and let them take it) but I was a few minutes away from calling the police because they were gone with the car for over an hour doing who knows what. Then they ended up not buying it. So huge lesson learned there, pretty dumb of me for trusting them.

Also even if you have a higher asking price, there are a lot of people that would love to have a nice ap1 with that kind of mileage. I'd say you can find someone to give you $15k on it with that mileage.

I just bought my '03 with 40k miles on it for $16,000 from a Dealer in January. Very happy with it. It replaced my '05 Honda Odyssey, which was totaled by a 16 year old DUI, Hit and Run driver. After nearly 16 years of driving an Odyssey, it was time for something different.

MY01 being in outstanding condition I would advertise for $13k

As others have mentioned it all depends on the car, the condition and the colors. Some are harder to find than others. Go Fast Mods do not add value to the car , only value is depending on the person buying , some of these ad ons are a takeaway depending on the person looking to buy.

My initial is 12-13k, but you could wait and find a buyer for close to $14k considering the extreme low miles. You might find a Honda freak that is willing to pay a premium like 15-16k, but most people will start looking at 04+ models at the high end of price.

thanks for the input guys, i went and checked it out, it had a tear in the soft top, the hood was resprayed for seemingly no reason, some dings and scratches, a buff mark down to the metal and the last few years the car was just parked under a tree with no car cover and it showed, however the car drove exceptionally well, so we made a final offer of $13,000, he coutered with $14,500, so we walked. maybe he'll call back and accept, all i know is i cant wait to be in an S, but the perfect one is worth the wait

I honestly think his mileage is mistyped based on his post.
