Not set on AP1 vs AP2. Ideally I want to stay close to $12k, but could go higher if needed. I do like the silver / red combo a lot. I'm just getting my feet wet with my research, so I am open to ideas. And I will look in the for sale forums here. Are there any other S2000 forums or is this the premier one?

won't know till you try i guess, but that is at the tippy top of the prices I've seen. My cousins father in law is the used car manager at a Honda dealership here in Maryland and I asked him to look for a car for me. As soon as i told him I wanted a S2000, he said he couldn't help me. Said : "they are too rare, I see 1 or 2 in real bad shape go through the auctions in a year and most other dealers aren't willing to trade for them. If they have one, and they know what it is, they will ask a premium for it or just detail it and sit it in the show room because it will bring in people just to look at it...."

He recommended buying from a private seller if I needed one right away or just be willing to pay what the dealer is asking.

lol not what you want hear I guess, but that's what I was told.
I found mine at a VW dealer...the guy found out his wife was having twins and he traded it straight up for a jetta tdi..

Asking 13K, what would be a good price on the car? Any advice would be appreciated.
Hate to quote my own post but i would like input if possible. It has. Clean title, no accidents as well. I don't think he will come below 12.5k. Anyone?

00' Silverstone 80k miles. Salvage from theft, no accidents. Glass top.
Price: 9500

Third:
00' NFR 82k miles with spoon replica top. Soft top removed but comes with car.
Salvage from rear corner accident in 2003, current pictures dont show damage.
Price: 7700.
The 3rd is not a good choice. A S2000 would have had to sustain more than 50% of the cars value in damages to be declared totaled. In 2003, that means that the damages would have had to been around $10-11,000. Wow. Pass.
Go for the 1st one. No brainer compared to the two others you are looking at.

Where are you guys searching for these used S2000s? Seems like everyone is asking at least $5K over KBB and then they say "don't lowball."
