really the only thing i think the AP2's have as far as advantage is better retainers and a better PCV system so they dont burn oil like AP1's....i had a 220whp all motor type r that drank oil and it was a fresh build so i dont think the AP1 oil consumption is actually an issue(at least to me)...as far as which one to buy, thats entirely up to you...it is a honda and these cars are still very reliable if maintained properly in higher mileage...good luck and welcome back
He said intelligent comments.
It was mentioned the only thing he feels is a true concrete advantage over an AP1 is the AP2 retainers vs weaker ( but not weak ) AP1 retainers.
Changes, and true differences/advantages/improvements are completely different. Let's keep this intelligent.
I would not be afraid to own an S2000 with > 100,000 miles. Maintenance records, and the big picture of the person I am buying it from are equally as important.
Definitely not money pits at all if it was maintained. Fluids are key really. If the diff, trans and engine oil was changed frequently and the car was treated right, I would buy the car that I thought was a better buy regarding the big picture TCO.
What is your budget? Here is one kinda near my house. http://sarasota.craigslist.org/cto/2991696014.html

I can possibly check it out for u. I am FLIRTING with the idea of selling mine. I have a 2003 Silverstone with 67k miles. I am asking $13k firm with the 18" SSR Comps and $12k u bring your own wheels. Bone stock, no mods whatsoever. Lots of Ap2 OEM upgrades. Text me for pix 631-387-7042
It has the 04-05 red/black two tone seats, one new Ap2 headlight, front and rear bumpers, Ap2 exhaust tips. I also had a set of Ap2v2's, but recently sold them. As for the Craigslist car, u can call him and I can meet up with him in Venice.
Awesome. Thanks man...he did not provide a telephone number so I've emailed him. Let's see if/when he replies. Thanks again!
Not a problem. I wanted a GPW S2000 but with the prices they are asking, I'd rather keep what I have. I don't think its worth it to pay anywhere from $5-9k on top of what I get for my car, just because I'm not crazy about the color. That money could go towards a supercharger. Anyway, LOL, find out about that car and see if he can shoot a short walk a round video of it and then LMK.
