Well I got flaked on by the guy with the yellow one, drove 3 hours and he doesn't answer, then tells me 2 hours later he just sold it, then I get a call from his "friend" asking if I want to buy it from him... I'm now starting to look in Georgia and Alabama, seems Florida is full of weirdos
LOL! Its back on CL... http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/3000589424.html

Yup, with no info on it this time $700 less than before and now it is posted in Orlando...

My guess was that he thought someone was coming to buy it for more than what I offered so he said he sold it and then the offer fell through. I used to do this with my friends when we were younger except they would show up as potential buyers and start a bidding war

After I reread his for sale post, I remember this car. I saw it disassembled at a parts shop in Tampa, and they asked me if I wanted to buy the bumper with CR lip. Now they just used all the parts and put it back together.

Good thing you didn't buy it, you would be in for a headache I'm guessing. When I saw it, the whole front end was off, top was trashed, rear window was completely fogged up, and tires were down to bare. That's usually a sign of poor ownership, not just theft.

Well according to the guy, that parts shop was the owner who first bought it after it was stolen, he used the CR parts he had in stock already and put them on, he put a new top with glass in and new seats. Apparently it used to have a hard top also, he said everything is flawless on the car now, never repainted and would allow it to be inspected at any shop.

I wasn't going to check it out again but I just went to look at a white 00' with a hardtop, looks really good until you get about 5 feet away from it. Paint was off on the front, had over spray, had steel motor mounts?... so the interior was very shaky. The hardtop wasn't professionally done and the soft top was deleted. Other than that it was very nice 105k miles, tien springs, hks exhaust $10k. Any opinions on these?

If I was you, I would wait to buy a car that has never been touched. The car you are describing does not sound like it is worth anywhere close to $10k. A hardtop is nice to have, but the thing that makes the S2000 what it is is the soft top. You'll be paying 10K, need to get it resprayed unless you just dont care, will have to change the motor mounts. I personally would not pay 10K for a '00 with 105k in stock form let alone what your looking at.

As an example, I bought this in Ocala for $7k. 100k miles, super mint. Only mod was the AP2V1 wheels. Motor had updated oil jet bolts, retainers were perfect, top was perfect. I know that not all cars will fall to this price, but I have seen several on craigslist that can be had for this price and in good condition. You just have to wait, and see what pops up. Just stay away from modded cars.

Wow wth, that is a crazy price and exactly what I am looking for... Yeah I decided I am not buying the white one, I would have to be working on it from the very beginning. $10k + paint + rear glass + new mounts + new badges + front lip + basic tune up, probably all would equal out to like $3k so might as well have bought a $13,000 car with way less miles.

Purchased 07 laguna blue with 60k miles for $14000 ($530 registration) with clean title. 10/10 exterior and maybe 6/10 interior..
Hids were out, had replaced fender, bumper, and hood in accident but no frame damage. Small hole in passenger seat and missing kneepad panel (first owner took it off for wire management, guess he lost it). No scratches on rims but the rear treads were completely gone, though he offered me two used tires with about 70% tread.

Car ran great. Alot of annoying imperfections, but nothing i cant fix. I think i got a good deal?

Sounds pretty good. I got my 03 with 67,000mi almost 3 yrs ago for $11,700. Perfect condition, except it was probably an oil burner from the beginning, without the previous owner even knowing. He got the oil changed every 3000mi, but never checked the oil, so it probably ran a half qt low all the time.

Just picked up a 2004 Sebring Silver with 49k miles for $13.5k, 9/10 exterior and 9/10 interior, was owned by a car detailer, had to drive 500 miles, but well worth it!
