-Official- Is this car worth it thread
It sounds great, and the price is not horrific. She may be leaving some wiggle room in there for the haggle. If you want $20 bucks for something, you ask for $25. Offer her 13k cash and see what she says.
Best color too. GL.

man 13K is quite a difference from what she is asking, I would think some people may get a little aggrivated with an offer like that.
Good point. It's hard to figure out a price without actually being there.
Talk to her and then make an offer that you think is fair. Maybe 14k is in order. Maybe 15k. Maybe the car is such amazing shape it's UNDERvalued. Price is so hard to determine on a forum.
What are YOU willing to pay is what you should be considering.

Well as of now, if everything is how she says it is i would pay 14k cash without complaining or feeling bad about the deal at all.
The only thing i am concerned about is the whole popping out of gear issue that the 04 is said to have, not sure what the bill is on that but ill have to do some more research on that.

I would definitely get the motor compression tested before you buy. It may be driven by a grandma, but you never know.
And what is so enticing about being paid in cash? Is there really a big difference of being paid with a sack of Benjamins, a certified cashiers check from a bank, or a check paid out from someone's loan company?
Personally, I wouldn't want to accept or carry around $15,000 in cash.

The price is good. You may wanna negotiate downwards based on any work or things that will need replacement.
- Check the condition of the tires & wheels.
- Check for rust.
- Have the car inspected at a Honda dealership or at a place you trust.
- Check the soft top for any damage
- get down on your knees and take a light and check out the condition of the calipers and pads.
- check the engine bay and make sure all is well
- ask for service receipts and ask her where she had the car worked at. If she is a meticulous older person, she should have a record of everything.
- Ask when MTF and differential fluid were changed.
- Test drive the car and see if eveything is in order. Alignment etc.
- Drive the car on a mix of roads. Just don't drive it on a short route. Make it a mix of back roads & highways.
Good luck and welcome aboard
