$10k is probably a decent price if the car is in good condition. I'd try to get 9 and expect to meet in the middle. Check the vin stickers and get a carfax.
Carfax report is clean, i'm going to send it to get a mechanical inspection before I drive 5 hours to take a look at it. The dealership im buying from owns a honda dealership as well, should I be worried about the truthfulness of the report if they send it to their own dealership for an inspection?

Of course you should. Find an independent to check it out. Many will let you drive the car in and show you what they find as they are inspecting it. Check for VIN stickers. Read all the FAQs here before you buy one.

Thanks for the advice jim. Ive found an independent mechanic who is going to do a mechanical inspection, test drive, and is going to check for any signs of an accident. Unfortunately I cant be there for the inspection because the car is 5 hours away, and I will only drive out there if there is nothing wrong with the car.

Hello,

With Spring quickly approaching I find myself in the market for a S2000. I have loved this car since they came out and am really excited to be able to purchase one. I was planning on holding off until April, but one of the local dealerships has an S for sale and I am seriously considering picking it up. There are not a lot of S's on the market right now in Wisconsin so I have no means of comparison on the price, etc. of this car. Please let me know if you think I should pick this one up or not.

2003 S2000
Silver/Black
58,400 miles
Excellent condition inside and out
All stock
$13,450

It is at a Nissan dealership, whom is offering a 2yr/100k warranty on the car as well.

I know you probably get this type of thread all the time, but your imput is appreciated.

Thanks

You might wanna post this in the 'official is my s2k worth it thread.' IMHO, you can do a little better price wise. I picked up my bone stock 03 Berlina w/only 16,300 on the clock for 13,200. Check to see what KBB is for your car and press the dealer more on price.

Try to find a car at KBB pricing. The lower miles the better because KBB doesn't adjust much under ~50k miles.

Is this the car you're looking at?

Yea $12k out the door sounds a little more fair to me too for that amount of miles and year. Or at least haggle with them a little bit. Since you're getting it from the dealer you're going to be pinned with b.s. service charges and what not driving it up around an extra grand for what you bought it for.

I'd go up there and pretty much say, "I've got a budget of $12k out the door, take it or leave it." If they decline maybe go up an extra $500 and say you're borrowing it from a friend but that the absolute max you can go out the door."

Just work them to get the lowest price possible...all they're trying to do is get the maximum price possible, just a big game...good luck
