Don't rush it, you can probably find at least an '04 AP2 for around that price and it will save you from having a plastic window and newer parts.

Not to be a dick but this just isn't true. Since motors don't last forever something with 200K isn't nearly the same as something with 50K. Clearly if they let the oil run low this would slant the motors life.

Good oil or not, there is typically a bearing failure to be had, assuming nothing else was to fail.

The body has also seen a lot more 'living' the higher the mileage. Lower mileage cars are preferable. Less wear on wheel bearings, interior and body means a better buy.

OP - look for a better buy. That car is probably worth $9K at best. If you're looking for cheap fun that would be the car, assuming you lower the price.

I'd of bought it and would have already started fixing it in the time you took to write out this post.

That better?

I've been looking around & called several credit unions around my area & overall they don't finance them since they're older. Most finance cars that are 05 & above. I simply don't have the cash to get an 05 s2k that costs around 17k. Some lady started laughing when I told her that was what I was trying to finance it. She suggested going to a Toyota dealer & going to see their "Preowned Cars" & get myself a Corolla. Still I'm going to talk to the guy I was originally talking to & see if we can drop the price possibly 1k or 2k. I've been trying to find other cars that meet the rules for the credit union I was originally trying to finance with. I really cant wait any longer, I usually get stuck with closing shifts during the week & having to call your pops for a ride is flat out lame. They get home too late for me to take their cars so that is my only option.
Btw for those younger drivers the insurance quotes & all. How much do some pay? Ive been quoted for about 260 every month...

been looking for a gpw ap2 for a while and found decent deal but not sure if i want to get it yet. car is a 2005 gpw/tan ap2 with 141000 km which is around 88k miles. front bumper needs repaint and has chips around the fenders and door dings. i can get the car for $13500 but my problem is i'm from a different province and would need to either ship the car or get new tires to drive back. do you guys think it's worth it of should i try to get the price down a little more?

Hello, I recently got a 06 s2k with 13k millage on it. the bad thing is that its salvage. Im going to replace most of my parts and all to make it sell-able. I was wondering, what should I be asking for it? Im in Cali and I know s2000s well at a higher price then some other states. Sorry if it seems like a stupid question. Im just wondering...
