There's a 2002 for sale with 81k miles and the owner is asking 11k. Owner says it's running fine with no problems whatsoever.

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hn...382235792.html

He's asking 11k with the greddy exhaust, d2 coilovers with 600-700 miles, and stock wheels.
Worth it or should I ask for lower? Also, if he is willing to part out everything and bring it back to stock how much should I offer?

I never understand the "if it doesn't sell by X date at this price, it's going back to the original price." Yeah, if it doesn't sell, let's raise the price by 20% and see if it does then. Either complete BS or complete stupidity.
For example, if an X person needs to pay off a debt by Y date he can use that method. Or if a person found something else he likes that came up for sale but needs the cash can do that as well. It's not too hard to understand eh?
Point is, if he can't sell it at $9,500 he's probably not going to be able to sell it for $11,800. Supply and demand are a bitch.

Come spring/summer time he wont have a problem selling for his old price.

s2000's are extremely hard to sell during winter months so no wonder he's lowered the price drastically. But assuming the car is in good condition, that price is a very good deal however you look at it.

That is true, I forgot about that. I bought mine in April last year and signed up for KBB e-mail updates when the value changes more than 1%. I kept getting one after the other, by mid-summer getting up to about 20% higher than what it was when I bought it. Then since mid-late fall it has gone straight down, probably 25% total.

Wow...that paint looks horrible. What's going on with the stickerbombed trunk?

And the front bumper.. atleast they didn't sticker bomb the windshield.

Curious why anyone would post pictures of their car for sale without cleaning it off. He took rear shots of it clean but nothing else..

The exhaust fitment looks off. Being that low in the rear, it has likely hit the ground a few times.

Price kinda seems high.. unless it the pictures are making it look bad.

If someone posts pictures of a dirty car for sale, I assume at least two things.

1) They are lazy

2) They are trying to hide cosmetic blemishes.

3) They treat the car like crap.

Am I totally crazy here?

2004, 96k

Prior salvage title, fully rebuilt/painted

Car has "perfect" paint (according to used dealer selling it), but the car is completely painted over in plastidip.

The dealer is asking $12,800 (The average price between KBB and NADA for that vehicle w/ a clean title is $12,600). He said there was a little room to work, and then when I said that I needed a lot of room to work with on that (internet suggested as much as 40% below market value for a salvage vehicle) the guy proceeded to mock and make fun of me for having a small budget (real professional, guy). I'm confused... how does a plastidipped salvage s2000 command that kind of asking price?
