^^ I don't see how anyone can tell you if either car is being advertised for a good price if you don't list the advertised selling price. As far as predicting the future, that depends on how you plan to use the car and how good your crystal ball is. From a I-will-never-drive-it-and-I-hope-to-park-it-in-a museum point of view, low mileage is a bigger consideration if all else is equal.

Not really asking how much the car is worth, but I am possibly going to look at a car this weekend. 03 GPW.

I was curious if it was normal for the fog light cutout (I know this isn't what they are called, but I can't think of the name of it for the life of me...) to be painted. In all the pictures I see, these are black. On my parents Odyssey they are black. When they bought another Odyssey it had been wrecked in the front and the body shop painted them to match the car.

I wasn't sure if certain cars came with them painted, or if they had been painted due to the bumper being replaced.

I'll definitely be running a CarFax and asking the guy.

^^ No, those did not come painted from the factory. Bumper has been sprayed.

For future reference, this is an excellent type of question for the Appearance/S2000 Body and Paint subforum.

Good luck on checking it out!

He has a decent price on the car, so as long as it wasn't repainted due to a serious crash, then I can live with it.

He did say the it received hail damage days before he bought it and the previous owner fixed it. I haven't heard whether it required paint or if it was PDR.

Also, the fitment around the hood/bumper looks weird. Is that just because it is white and has a black seal?

I've never paid more than $2000 for a car, so I'm a little paranoid

For reference:
Based on the large uneven panel gap and the sprayed brake duct covers, it looks like that either wasn't the original bumper, or they took the original off and sprayed it at some point (putting it back on sloppily) If your CarFax doesn't show any accidents, they may have just sprayed it to try and clean up some scrapes. I would definitely ask them about it at least.

Here's another angle. Hood fitment does look weird. Think it may just not be all the way latched?

That might be it. From the other angle, it looked more like the bumper was drooping towards the middle, but here it looks more like the hood. you'll be able to tell much better in person I guess.

Yeah, my dad runs a body shop here in town and is pretty particular about panel fitment. He should be able to tell in person if it has been wrecked/painted. He hasn't ever worked on a S2000 though, so he doesn't know exactly what is OEM and what's not.

Was just trying to get some feedback before we make the drive.

I guess while I'm here, I should ask what you guys think it would be worth, assuming it hasn't had any collisions. It's an 03 with 125k. Invidia header/exhaust setup, Buddy club n+ spec coilovers, prm intake. Interior looks good as well, minus the driver seat.

He is asking $10k

GPW with a Tan interior is a tough find man. I paid 10k for an 00 AP1 BB three years ago with 92k on the odometer and a rebuilt engine and diff, and I felt like I made out like a bandit. I think that's a fair price if you dont find anything dealbreaking.
