-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
2007 LPB with 53k on it, 100% Stock, 3 owner car. Started in Florida is now in New Orleans. Clean Carfax. Only thing I see is the headlights are a little foggy which is no big deal. They're asking almost 20K for the car which I think is kinda high.

Car seems to be in excellent conditions. No tears in roof, nothing outside of normal wear and tear, etc. Tires have 60% tread remaining. Seems like a decent deal if the carfax checks out? Only problem is I'm not a fan of yellow, but beggers can't be choosers. Owner has had it listed for a month and has gone from asking $11,800 down to $9,500 as he needs cash. Apparently if he doesn't sell by the following Monday it's reverting to its old price.

good to know the price seems fair, though. I may offer him 9k cash when I see it and see if he takes it. Wanna have a mechanic check it out first, tho

Offering 9k could insult him. If I were him I would be. The car is priced to sell obviously and it's a really really good deal for $9500. But I guess it might not hurt to ask other than souring the relationship.

I think if an offer is presented politely, there is no reason to worry if the seller will be offended. For instance: "I can understand if you have to say no, but I'm prepared to pay $9000 in cash pursuant to a satisfactory inspection of the car by my mechanic at my expense." If the seller finds that insulting, then he's going to have a hard time selling his car.
For example, if an X person needs to pay off a debt by Y date he can use that method. Or if a person found something else he likes that came up for sale but needs the cash can do that as well. It's not too hard to understand eh?

I never understand the "if it doesn't sell by X date at this price, it's going back to the original price." Yeah, if it doesn't sell, let's raise the price by 20% and see if it does then. Either complete BS or complete stupidity.
