-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
The price is fair for a dealer and I have been at that dealer last year looking at another s2000 and they were not willing to budge on the price a whole lot but they were good guys and all the cars they had looked to be in great condition.
I would have to agree with everyone else here and say that you should hold out until you find the one exactly how you want it.
Lots of s2000's come and go in the chicagoland area so finding the right one shouldn't take too long.

I am currently looking at 2 different cars.
The 1st is an 05 NFR with 55K miles. Its listed for $18800 (No haggle price). The car looks clean but has had 5 owners. The Carfax shows multiple service entries. My worry is could there be an issue that caused multiple owners to quit on the car, or was it just random? I have asked the dealership if they will perform a compression test and provide results. Waiting on reply.
The second is an 03 Silver with 64K miles for $15,600. 2 owners. Nothing stands out as a red flag.
My heart is tied to NFR, as my 1st S was red. Nothing wrong with Silver I suppose but the color does little for me.

Been searching for a low mileage S2000 but primarily looking in the 2006-2008 range, for silverstone metallics under 40,000 miles and around $25,000.

This bad boy caught my eye... very clean, has upgraded speaker and ipod (about all I would want to do) and the owner seems like a true car enthusiast that would really take care of his car.
Car is a couple years older than I had hoped for (plus no VSA or DBW although I would settle as long as its an AP2) but looks gorgeous...
No way I am paying $27,500 but if he has some bargaining room I would consider it.
Worth it? Or should I wait for a 2006+ with a few more miles in similar condition?

No need to settle. Wait and get exactly what you want. I was thinking the same thing about the color. Easy to wait for another one to pop up. Especially if you like Silverstone. I see those most often!
