$17k is a solid deal with a mint car.

If he is in no hurry, 15k may not be a serious enough offer. Take 16k cash and see what happens! Honestly though, if it is nice, 17k doesn't sound unfair for that. Good luck to you!

Hi guys,

I'm looking at a Silverstone/Black 2007 in So Cal with 44,000 miles asking just under $22,000. I did not see any dents or scratches, although it was raining, other than a scuff on the lower right corner of the front bumper. The soft-top was perfect inside and out. The seats did look a bit weathered for its mileage, probably by sun (CarFax 2 owners both in So Cal), and one of the seams dead in the middle of the driver seat looks like it may tear. All four wheels have been curbed to varying degrees. I wouldn't say any one wheel is in terrible shape however.

Mechanically, the S2000 felt fine. It shifted and drove just fine. One thing that concerns me is that the CarFax stated that the catalytic convertor was replaced. Perhaps a previous owner modified the car. Does the price seem appropriate?

My guess- A dealer replaced the cat. otherwise I doubt it would have shown up on a carfax.

What's up everyone? Not being new to car forums I didn't want to post a "should I get this car?" thread, so I'm glad yall have this sticky. Anyway, I'm looking at a black 2001 S2k with 129k miles to replace my DD Volvo that died. I think I can talk him down to $8500 for it. The guy's getting rid of it because he bought a new Porsche Cayman as his fun car. It seems like a pretty good deal, but I've got two big concerns, the first being a "thunk" on a 1-2 upshift that my dad and I both noticed while test driving it. I did some research and it seems like that it's not real uncommon for earlier models to have that, but I wasn't sure.
My other issue is the mileage. Is 129k a lot for these cars? The current owner (older guy) has taken immaculate care of the car so I feel like it's in good shape for it's age, but do these cars run into any major known issues around this mileage?

Here's what I know about the car: The Good- Current owner is second owner and has owned it since '03, has been garaged it's whole life, has aftermarket stereo, top replaced in '07, cat replaced within past 5 years, synthetic oil change every 3,500 miles, diff. fluid changed every 7k miles (all work done at Honda dealership)
The Bad- car spun out in rain and the driver's side rear tire hit a curb back in '04, all suspension parts and body panels that were damaged were replaced (no frame damage), carpet has good sized hole in it from driver's heel rubbing through it, small dings here and there from being parked under a tree with large nuts (haha)

So what do you guys think? Should I jump on it for $8500? I really want this car, I've kinda always had a secret crush on these things despite being a GM guy and now I've finally got a reason to get one. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post!

What's up S2ki?

Looking at an 04 BB s2000.
4 owners.
Clean title - no accidents.
61k Miles.
Car looked good inside and out.

Asking $15,900 but the carfax says the list price is $1700 above KBB. How much do you guys think this car is worth?

http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/dd...aptcha=success

2001 s2k
65k miles
Sparko racing seats
$14K

Obviously not a super reputable looking dealer but I've got cash in hand so I can probably get him to drop the dealer fee and eat some taxes and start screaming for dealer plates like that scene in Get Rich or Die Tryin' where 50 Cent buys a benz in cash.

Also how do you guys feel about the seats? I'm not in love but I could always sell or swap for a better color (black)

Hi folks,

I think I'm close to pulling a trigger on a S2000 and want to know what to offer.

1. 2003 with 53K miles. Asking $14,500.

Yellow, 3 owners.

Exterior - 8.5/10
Interior - 8/10 (Has seat covers - can't see original seats.

NEEDS new top, new tires, front brakes and alignment. I calculated the repairs to total $2,500.

2. 2007 with 68K miles. ASKING $18,500.

Blue, 2 owners.

Exterior - 8.5/10
Interior - 8.5/10

Top has 2 sealed patches on it.

Any thoughts on these cars above?

My concerns are:
Car #1. Too many maintenance/repairs - if the owner ignored issues such as the top and tires, I don't feel too comfortable about how it has been treated. What's making the decision hard here is that externally though, it's in pretty good shape and the seller has been honest about the issues.
Car #2. Top with 2 patches is a red flag for me
