-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
id pass on that...not only was the front bumper not re painted correctly
ap1 airbags are single stage units..ap2 air bags are dual stage
I cant tell if the passenger is an ap2 but the steering wheel air bag will not work.
if the guy wants to drop the price another grand at least id walk away.
just remember you have to replace one if not both air bags

Thanks for the info guys. The guy is willing to be flexible with the price and will allow me to choose a mechanic for a full inspection. Someone from the Texas forum recommended a guy that seems legit. I will see what he has to say about the car after a detailed inspection. I will point out the airbag issue to him too. Thanks again.
Trying to get an idea for what to offer on this:
2002 Honda S2000 - Suzuka Blue - <49,xxx miles
No mechanical issues
Cosmetic issues:
Curbage on 1 wheel
Front bumper scuffed some
Driver seat bolster worn down, crushed foam from the looks of it in addition to worn out leather
Bright green acrylic paint from vandalism on the top, looks like "Mi" and it takes up approximate half a square foot (I'd definitely want to get this fixed somehow...would it need a new top?)
One repaired hole in the top, no leaks
Sounds like it has been well maintained, has low mileage. Has intake and exhaust (not exactly a selling point for me).
Aftermarket soundsystem--Alpine head unit, Boston speakers, JL stealth sub.
Any input is appreciated--thanks!

what to do with any salvage title, start with checking the vin... from there on out it's a crap shoot.. but, some honest good deals are out there from some, so it's worth a look an see what the car looks like.. but start with.. what is it.. whatever they say.. the VIN will give you the most information as to what to expect, where it began... from there you can determine what it is you have in front of you... parts get changed..
great that he is open to working with you, it's a good sign to begin with and the Tex forum has a lot of knowledge... I lurk Tex..
