I own that car, my question is if I let it go how much is it worth thanks
For those of us that are uncultured, this car roughly has 25000 miles give or take? 2005 with under 30k miles in very good condition...just from pics alone i'd say 28k? I think a lot depends how fast you want to let it go. And your area. An AP2 with mileage that low in California can go from between 26k (amazing deal) to 35k and will sell within a month or so of posting. I'd check your local listings (cargurus.com is a good way to compare) and judge it from there but with enough patience i think 28-30k is doable.
I own a Canadian AP2, 2006 GPW with 68,000 kms (~42k miles), 10/10 VINs. I am the second owner, first owner put many highway miles on it until I bought it in 2010 with 55k kms (34,000 miles).
Only mods are a Recaro Pole Position seat and Buddy Club rails (I am 6'4" tall) and a Hard Dog roll bar. I still have the original seat and hoops. Tires are in good shape, Front Dunlop *Specs and Rear RE71R (after I got a nail in one and the shops said I didn't have enough tread left to patch it).
Interior is a black/red combo.. red seats and carpet, everything else is black. I haven't seen the same colour combination elsewhere (am I the only one?)
I'll let others chime in here, but 28K may be about it, or perhaps high. Since there's changes from stock (more than a radio or other minor things) it may reduce value. To me (personally, and how I value), the fact that it has a single drivers racing seat and aftermarket roll cage means it's been raced. That may give some folks pause and top dollar is usually fetched on 100% stock examples. There are very good 100% stock S2000s with 35K - 40K miles selling for 26K here in the northeast. You might get that, though. Only way to know is put it up for sale and see who bites.
Yeah, I never intended to put the car up for sale, so I took the required measures to drop the seat and add the cage so I'd fit and if I got into a rollover the bar would be more protective than the stock roll hoops. Then again, I never intended to get divorced either.. lol!
The car had only been in one autocross but aside from that no other racing. I can easily put it back to stock condition (minus the inner fender cuts for the Hard Dog mount). I'll do that to see before I list it.

My only other advice would be to be 100% honest with any potential buyer and let them know these modifications existed. The seats are relatively innocuous, but please let them know you modified the inner fenders for the roll cage so they know 100% going in. There's nothing worse than feeling like you are buying a stock S2000 and then finding out they modified it and returned it to stock. I know you didn't do much, but if I had bought it and later found out it was modified with a roll cage, I would be very worried about what else was done and not disclosed. Just be honest with potential buyers.
Hey guys, I've been looking for an s2k for a while now and saw this one for sale. I would actually be trading my 2013 Mazdaspeed3 with 118k miles and it's just hard for me to swallow trading my newer and lower mileage car. Do you guys think they are of comparable value or could I hold out for something with lower miles? Are there any red flags I'm missing on this one? Not a big fan of some of the mods that have been done to it but the hood spacers and shifter should be easy to switch out right?
Looks like it was a decently taken care of car if you can accept the mods. Sounds like he is not wanting to negotiate much perhaps to cover what he has spent in mods. No mention of how long he has had it.
I assume you are proposing a straight up trade for this? Realize it will cost you some money to turn this S2000 back to original BUT at least you wouldn't have to worry about selling your car to pay for this one. No disrespect to your Mazda but I'd wonder why the S2000 owner is so willing to trade when this car has just been sitting in storage...
I honestly think this one will still be around if you want to look a little more. Miles isn't a big deal depending on who put them on (driving style) and how well they stuck to maintenance intervals. That's why I'd like to know how long this person has had it.

IMO this is either California price or the seller is being optimistic. A car in that shape with 162k miles is def not worth $11K. It looks pretty rough to me, and it's not stock. I think he would be lucky to get $8K.
If I am off on this, I am definitely out of touch with the market. I've been thinking my 02 S2k that is in much better shape than this one, with 188K miles would only get $6-$7K, You guys telling me I can get $11K for it?
I am proposing a straight up trade. I asked him how long it has been in storage, apparently he only has a one car garage so he just takes it out occasionally for a drive. He's the second owner and has owned it for 6 years. Thanks for the advice! Let me know if that info changes anything.
