Going to need more information than that. Sounds on the high side initially even with a hard top.

I saw a GPW on facebook marketplace a few days ago with 104k miles and two vin tags missing (accident). It was going for 14k, use that as reference.

If this is a dealer selling that car, they are ~2-3k overpriced. This about it this way, if you sold the top for 4k would you consider it a $22k car? Also, if it is a dealer you should insist they replace the top.

If it is not a dealer then they are about 4-5k overpriced. Private party the car is probably worth $17-18k. Hardtop another $4k.

Alot of that is objective though. I don't really agree with the idea that these cars can be priced out en masse. Carefully evaluate the important thing like maintenance history and paint (color, you will regret not buying a color you like- and condition. Paint is $$$$ to fix). Just jump on it if you really like it and can talk them down a couple grand. IMO these cars really aren't that expensive for what they're worth, so it's worth it to buy a proper one rather than a cheap one.

In the perfect world, we'd get the most mechanically sound and in the color we want. But in the real world, you get the most mechanically sound S2000 for YOUR budget.

Mine is for sale in the classifieds. I'm sure whoever buys it will be happy for a long time. For me, its time for a M2.

So the car is a private sale. The sell is the 3rd
owner is the car. Seller reports is the top having no tears. To my surprise the price went up 500 bucks today. Private sale in Arizona is a tax free purchase. The color is red which I have already owned few years ago. I think I will pass on this for now.

If the red really isn't doing it for you then you might as well hold off. If you're on the fence you could always try offering less. Just because some people are escalating their asking prices it doesn't mean that they're actually getting that much for their cars when all is said and done. If you pass there will be other S2000's that will come along.

Ok friends, I found another 2008 silver/red with much lower miles at 44K being sold by private owner. This one does not have hard top like the other one. Overall condition seems really good. Seller has not done any maintainence except oil change he
reports. Asking price is 22900. I will not pay anything else extra (taxes or dealer fees) given I am in Arizona.
