The top straps are bad, it's a $20 fix from Modifry. I had to do it immediately upon purchasing my car. Certainly don't let that have anything to do with a decision as to if the car is a good deal or not.

I concur... looks like a good deal. Car appears to be in good shape and relatively low mileage. The top is as others have said... Modifry straps, easy fix in 10 mins.

Id still insist they install straps in negotiation if I was gonna make a purchase, regardless of how cheap the part is.

Thats part of the problem though. its a cheap fix from modifry because of the way they designed it. However most dealers would not go the aftermarket route to fix something. So what will happen is either they will fix it by replacing the straps by using a rivet gun to take out the rivets and then installing the new ones. or they will just tell you to move on. Honestly, its a fail part, and not worth losing a potentially good S2000 over. Every S2000 i've ever owned (2) had this part that needed a repair when i bought it. Its 20$ and 10 min out of your day to fix.

This. You would be much better off just installing the Modifry straps yourself for all of the reasons outlined by xxyion.

For less $ than a tank of gas it'll be like new.

Default 2008 laguna blue 69K 21,999

https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/...992078057.html

Listing ^^. I thought at first it was definitely worth it at that price especially from a dealer but then I looked at the carfax. While it doesn’t have any accidents reported it did have damage to the entire front of the car sometime between 12k and 18k miles I believe it was. I don’t know now if it’s worth pursuing or not especially at that price point. That aside it’s exatly what I’d want. It’s the perfect color and damn near the best year 2008 (my tastes, I want the newest laguna blue) I can find that I can afford. So what do you all think?

I have no idea and I'm not sure how I would find that out exactly.
