Stopped at grocery on way home from work last night to pick up some things for my wife. Came out, started car and thought "what's wrong with the steering". Then noticed EPS (for electric power steering) light on dash. Drove about 0.1 mile with no p/s, shut off car and restarted. EPS light went out and everything normal. OK this morning as well. Has anybody else had this happen? Is it just a fluke? Any thoughts?

Had it happen to me about six months ago. Exactly same deal as yours.

Got a hold of the dealer and they hooked me up with "THE" S2000 guy from Honda America. He had heard of this and was currently testing a rack from somebody elses car that they installed in his daily driver so he could experience the effect for himself. He hadn't had it happen to him yet at that point.

So, to sum things up, Honda knows about it, and it's never happened to me again in 6 months, that's all I know

Please post back if you find additional info!

Thanks

You can transplant the rack? I wouldn't mind putting the S2000 rack into my delsol as well. The steering is so much crisper. What other cars will take the rack?

It's not an integral part of the frame or something

Might need the Blow Torch on the DelSol side though.

I think it's an initialization problem. Maybe you were very hurry to start your car and go, that the system didn't have time to correctly init before you began to steer and load the system. (or maybe your wheels were completly turned while you started the car, sending some king of misinformation to the system) Consequently the EPS went to default state. Whent you restarted your car, you were much more slower and everything init to normal.
normally the system quickly init but it can occur some dash light can in rare occasion stay lit on.

I had a similar problem in my 4WS prelude, I'm not sure i'm right in your case, but that's not impossible.
