In my opinion there are two valid reasons for getting the 350Z over the S2000:
1. You don't want a manual transmission.
2. You are ... how do I put this politely ... too "robust" to fit comfortably into the S2000. Tall and skinny is fine.
In all other cases, I think the S2000 is the clear winner.

Well it has to be a manual transmission, neither my wife or I would ever own an automatic, especially in a sports car...
#2... No "Robust" people will be drive in our car... I am somewhat tall though (6'2"), so I definitely want to check the head room... I'm just slightly too tall for my father in-laws Miata...
I can't wait to drive one of these cars...

I'm also 6'2 and I fit just fine on the S, no headroom issue for me. I tried a Miata before and, like you said, I was a bit too tall for it.
Good luck with your decision.

I personally like the Z coupe better that the s in appearance, but not the interior nor anything else. Hence I own an S.
The Z roadster is just plain frikkin ugly. Most cars look worse in vert than coupe anyways, and the Z is an extreme case of this.

My mom has a silver Z Roadster, 6speed so I've spent some time in it. The only thing I really like about the car is the motor. The sound and low end grunt are just awesome. It almost has a muscle car type feel to it. Suprisingly, I think it handles quite well for a car of its size and weight. When I first drove it, I was amazed that it felt lighter than it is. I had a guy in a Z running faster times than me at an autocross last fall and I consider myself an OK driver.
Things I don't like about the car are the looks, both inside and out. I don't know why, but the new Z has never really struck me as a real good looking sports car. It's just too angular and fat. I really liked the previous gen Z style better. I also don't like the interior. Too plasticy and it wasn't comfortable. The doors are really high and I feel like I'm sitting too low in the car. The S2000 fits me just right. I came out of a Miata which was a very comfortable car and the S is even better. And finally, the Z gets POOR gas mileage. I mean we're talking 15mpg around town and maybe 25mpg highway. It loves to eat gas and that would be expected out of a 287hp 3.5L V6. I get 20-21mpg around town with the S and about 27-28 on the highway.
