I agree Woodyandy. I always back in driveways and my garage. I feel safer when using the mirrors than having to twist myself around. I, too have that little rectangular convex mirror on my drivers side mirror. I am more confident with using that than before. Plus, you still have some peripheral visoin or what is in front of you than when you have to look out the side window. However, the best method is top down driving.

I use two round 2-inch mirrors placed on the outside edge of each mirror and blind spots are history. 'Been using 'em for years on every convertible I've owned. I also keep a spare in the small compartment adjacent to the cupholder so when I'm the first guy at a stoplight (and my top is up) , I hold it on the dash to get the reflection of the light so I know when it changes. This way, I won't crack my neck trying to look under the visor at the lights. Being 6-4, it's a tight fit and this method works great.

Hey Russ, that is an excellent idea about the traffic light solution. I don't particularly like being first in line at a traffic light because of what I have to do to see the light. I'll have to look into that. Thanks.

I have a solution, albeit more expensive than the stick on mirrors. Use a RHD mirror.

the FAQ mirror mod will completely eliminate the blind spot Cars will overlap between rear to sideview and sideview to peripheral vision. In order for this to work though, you'll have to learn to adjust your mirrors to a position that doesn't allow you to (uselessly) see your own car. Search for the old thread on how to properly adjust your mirrors.

the mod is simple, takes about 10 minutes, is cosmetically neutral, and is completely reversible.

I did see posts and the mod and I had the mirror adjusted all the way out, but after seeing the view in the stick on spot mirror, I wanted a wider field of view across the whole mirror, rather than just pointing it outwards to cover the blind spot. In my post, I purposely moved the mirror in so you could see a corner of the car, as a reference point to show the difference between the two mirrors. I know it is unnecessary to see your own car in the mirror but a lot of people like to (I do on the right side).
