I’m guessing not nearly as much as the winning bidder wanted to get their hands on it.. Mecum is charging a 10% buyers premium at this auction. All in total the.buyer ended up spending over $40K on that car.

Some cars are coveted because of their looks, others because they are fantastic to drive, and some have a combination of both. The concern is that folks will put the cars away in storage, and driving up prices for people who might actually want to drive them. I love my S2000 and I drive it when it makes sense to. I don’t think it’s a pretty enough car to just leave it in the garage and look at it, and I don’t think it’s a great investment to not drive it in order to keep miles off it.

When it’s all said and done, our concerns won’t hold much weight and the purchasers will decide what the cars are worth. But it’s like when you see a poorly modified S2000, you realize that people are free to do what they please, but it still disappoints you to a degree.

Sorry if this makes no sense, my thoughts are a bit scattered, and autocorrect has fits on this forum.

Thanks man, I spent quite a bit of time looking for it. I hope you find exactly what you're looking for soon. Just be patient and you'll get it.

Thank you sir. Only 53k miles on her but I’m willing to wager that yours is currently cleaner as she sits . Been so busy this summer I haven’t had time to do anything to it, and I have a long list of stuff I want to refresh (gaskets, tct, banjo bolts, valve retainers, seals etc) Just hoping my eyes are as discerning as yours when I start going through it
