That's a k-series too...and not as good as some of the other k-series motors. It's iVTEC is on intake side only.
Ahh cool i had no idea thanx for the input.

I think it's great that you're trying different swaps. Once a car has been around for 7 years you see the same mods over and over again, so I think you're potentially breathing some new life in the modder's vision of the S2000.

Plus, these bastardized S2000s should give the more rare originals more value in the future jk

I'm very interested to see the K swap, though I don't know why you'd only go N/A. If you do find a test-mule car for the K, I hope to see further upgrades over time, eventually including boost.

Good luck!!

Oh, and on the 2JZ you swapped you need to post-up performance specs like 0-60 times, quarter mile, etc. It'd be nice for comparison to stock, since I'm having trouble converting the HP numbers into more relevant info!

The K-series came after the F-series and therefore the K incorporates more advanced technology than the F..namely iVTEC. The K also has greater tuner support since it is more widely used...the K tuners offer proven cams for reasonable prices.
I'm not sure that's a valid deduction, neg... There were some serious technology leaps in the F-series that might not've been picked up in the K (I don't know). Fiber reinforced cylinder walls, slipper (racing style) pistons...

I agree, iVTEC itself is certainly more advanced than VTEC, but in this case I don't know that more advanced == better for the S.

That said, I guess we'll see. Brian seems to be on a mission to find out.

Did you see my question? Why not anymore vids of the s2k with the supra engine? I'm really interested in seeing the handling and traction aspects of this S, as i might be a candidate for this swap if i like what i see...I'm local and have been thinking about it.

Glad your going ahead with the k20 swap, really interested in seeing how it performs from a dig.

Im gonna be very honest with you here, Mike, the other guy in the vid, my right hand man for three years now, has tried over and over to get good vids of the 2JZ S2000, we live on an island here in Navarre FL, and the highest speed limit around is 55. So its been very difficult to get vids of the car doing cool stuff. And there is po-po EVERYWHERE!!! My liscense is too important to me, But Mike does'nt mind as much. So anyway, our Local dragstrip closed for the season 3 days before we completed the Beast, so no vids at the track, which is where i want the vids taken. But anyway, we have some half ass vids of street racing, and dash shots too, but they didnt impress me much so i didnt put them out there. Mike's a great guy, and a outstanding tech, but sucks with a camera bless his heart! So, if anyone wants to come here and drive my car and make vids, IM GAME!!! Seriously, im just too busy, and that car scares the SH-T out of me!!! PM if seriously intrested, KNOWONE UNDER 20!!! sorry, and youll have to sign a disclaimer too.

Well, i agree with the I-VTEC being more advanced, but in the F20C's defence, with AEM EMS , a good tuner can duplicate I-VTEC with the F20/22, by retarding and advancing the timing through the coil packs, not the cam angle phasing. While very curious to see how the k20 will do in the s2000, id say the F20/22 is very up to speed with technoligy no doubt. But yeah, im very hard headed, i just got to know!!

If you need some road recommendations for shooting video, I know a few of the roads out there. There are some great traffic free country roads between Milton, Jay and Crestview. Would love to see more of the 2JZ.

I don't doubt Brian's abilities. If the swap can be done, he can do it!
I'm excited, 50/50 is picking my car up to have some work done! Talk about customer service, they are picking my car up on new years day! I'll keep you all posted after they pick it up...
