perhaps i should have explained myself better. i was hopping from topic to topic with no clear indication that i shfted gears.

i get the s2j swap. i do. some people want a shit ton of reliable hp and the f20c cant deliver that as simply as the 2jz can. thats a no brainer.

what i was trying to say is that all of the other swaps are like a "hey look what i can do" thing. swapping in a motor with considerably more potential makes sense but talking about swapping in motors that have no greater advantage seems wasteful to me and like i said it seems like it is just a showcase of your ability to play motor swap legos with s2000's.

for the record i do think the guy with 852hp s2000 is saying "look what i ca do" because there have only been about a billion threads about it being a dynoqueen/ showcar. as in, he doesnt even race the car. so yes, i do think thats what that guy is saying.

as for the guy with the itbs and the stroker kit, he utilizes the extra power and he has a pretty fast car. the fact that he has done as well as he has (although i personally beleive he could have doen a few things a little different and realized significantly more power ie, building his head versus the itbs as he was using a stock head on a stroked engine and as we very well know the stock f20c ports and the combustion chamber in general arnt made for that quantity and or type of airflow) should show the potential of the f20c naturally aspirated and therefore stands to prove my point about not doing a swap that is so similar as the k series.

and also, i have seen you on this and other forums getting all defensive when someone offers something other than "oh, pleeeeease do some more of them bad ass swaps"

a perfect example would be you telling me i dont know what im talking about. it seems obvious you just got butthurt and decided to react defensively.

i dont think what i said was particularly offensive...

im merely raising a simple issue of lgic. why would it make sense to swap in an engine that is only marginally ebtter if any better at all? im referring to the k series.

if you tell me you bought an s2k with a blown motor and you wanted to put a k series in it, i'd say "awesome". if you told me that you wanted to make 700 whp daily driven i'd say "hey, maybe a supra motor is for you"

but a k series swap just doesnt add up if you already have a working f20c.
I guess im busted man, i guess after thinking about it, it is all about the "look what i can do", but also curiousity. But im not stupid, im not gonna invest time and money into something that isnt gonna produce some kind of benefit for all of us. I think it may show us that the k20 might have been a better motor for Honda to go with if it makes the car a little more torquey, and if it gets it up that track any faster at all, stock for stock, which none of us KNOW until i do it, then it would be safe to say that this would be a good swap to do in a s2000 with no motor, or a track car. Or a "look what i did" normal Joe. Im just curious to see, and if the F20C kicks its butt, then we'll all love our F20C's all the more!

I am not pointing fingers at any one person. It just gets me when people can't share there opinions in a constructive way rather than putting a guy down because he has different ideas.

I personally don't like the the K20 as much not because it might not be a better motor but I'd rather have an engine that I can do a lot more with and that is more reliable like the 2JZGTE. That doesn't mean that the swap is bad or shouldn't be done.

yes we get it! the F20c can make HUGE power, same potential as the K series.

obviously were all throwing out reliability since if ur gonna up the redline of the K series to 9k why not just up the redline of the F20c to 10k? see where that goes. aside from that idea.

look u guys need to stop bashing the guy for just asking our opinions on WHAT WOULD BE A COOL SWAP.

this isnt a thread to preach the awsomeness that is the S2000 and its engine. thats been done, and obviously if he's using the S2000 platform it speaks for itself.

just realize this guy is coming to us S2ki.com for feedback since, we seem to know alot about the car. he figured why not get the "expert" opinion.

i'm sure he had no intent to get flamed by abunch of @$$holes trying to tell him the F20c is the only engine for me.

What do you think would be a cool swap? thats it. not what engine is best for the S2000 what engine harnesses the most horsepower. K series is worse then the F series.

just wants to know. what would be "cool"
