Thanks Red Blur, that is the second recommendation I have heard about Honda of Bradenton and Scott Bunker. I guess it was worth the trip down. I'll give them a call and make an appointment.

Keep on Tec'n

Boiler,

Actually, the actual pedal pressure does change. Red blur happens to be my cousin, so we always compare my 02 S2000 to his 01 S2000. One of the big differences is the pedal pressure. My car takes little effort to depress the clutch, and the pressure is soft, but on his 01, the pedal pressure was hard, and it took a good effort to depress the clutch.

After getting his TSB 054, the clutch was indeed MUCH softer than his previous clutch. Actually, it was identical to mine, thus reaffirming my belief that all the TSB 054 warranty work is an 02 standard clutch. Maybe they do replace the PP, but in the actual TSB paper, all it had specified to replace was a clutch disk.

Oh, and by the way, I HIGHLY recommend getting the GM Synchromesh tranny fluid. Red Blur got the idea from Prolene, and man, what a HUGE difference.....

You don't need to have this done. With my spoon exhaust the buzzing sound seemed to be magnified and got to be a bit annoying. But after 25K my clutch felt fine and wasn't slipping at all. But like someone stated earlier...a new clutch.

I'll also call Larry the service guy and ask him specifically what he did to the car regarding the TSB...so we can find out the extent of it.

When I had the clutch TSB done on my 2001, they changed out the clutch disk, Pressure Plate, and Flywheel all together (all under warranty).

One of several things may have happened. Either the pressure plate was changed along with the clutch disk, or I've seen the throwout bearing assembly drag on the splines of the crankshaft because of dirt/rust and cause a very high pedal pressure.

I just had mine changed last week and the only thing that was changed was the clutch disk and the pedal pressure feels the same to me, nothing has changed except for the feel of the clutch. New clutches are great. Mine is an '01 and it has always been very easy to depress the clutch pedal.

They changed the plate in mine as well. The clutch got way softer. (as in less pressure needed to push it down)
