Get the Voodoo! You won't regret it. I have the magnum spun aluminum and enjoy it every time I shift. IMO its price/performance ratio far outweighs any other mod.

I have Magnum Pearl Aluminum Voodoo knob, it is much heavier than stock MY04 knob. The Ti Voodoo is heavier than Aluminum Voodoo for sure.
Wanna bet? I first bought a Magnum Aluminum Pearl Voodoo knob as well. When I pulled off the stock knob I noticed right away that it felt heavier than the new Al Voodoo so I weighed both and like I said, the stock 04 knob was a fair amount heavier. After a couple weeks I ended up buying the Ti Voodoo because I wanted the extra heft. To me it makes a big difference in the feel of the shifter and even masks the catchyness of the gearbox/synchros somewhat.

I went home for lunch and to compare the weight of the two knobs, you are right Ron, the OEM knob is heavier than the Voodoo Magnum Aluminum knob. I am sorry to post wrong informations.

Just remember that you only have to use Loctite if you have the shift pattern engraved on the knob. If you have the plain knob, you can screw it all the way down.

jmccain,
I like the way I can just rest my arm on the center console an flick the shifts with my fingertips. It's very comfortable. As for the summer heat issue. Yes it gets hot. I keep a bucket hat (fishing hat) in the car and when I park it, I place the hat over the shifter like a tent. This seems to help out alot.

What TR-S2K, you mean you didn't believe me? I wouldn't lie to you . I hope you didn't have to drive too far, or you at least had some good lunch while you were there . Hey, it was surprising to me as well. When I ordered the aluminum magnum I was fully expecting it to weigh more than the stock knob. It's bigger and I can swear I remember reading somewhere that it did. Even though the top and bottom of the stocker are aluminum the center section with the leather wrap has got to be steel.

Ron,
I'd just want to use it as an excuse to have a ride with top down, the weather in Southern California is too nice today to not enjoy it.
My home is only 4.6 miles from work, it took me a long 10 minutes to drive home.

Jmccain,
You should remove the stock nut too and keep it with youy stock knob in safe place, in case you want to put the stock knob back.

Tegs2k,
I have engrave knob, I did not use Locktite and the pattern line up perfectly, may be I am lucky

You don't use it. Use Blue Threadlocker if you have an engraved knob or want to adjust the height up a bit, or just tighten it down.
