I had more problems with cops in my stock Geo Prism. I've never had a close call or have actually been pulled over in my S. I've had the car since December of 06. I drive much more careful in the S though. I've got RSR exhaust and dark tint. In my Geo though, I had cops all the time getting on my rear putting their lights on but wouldn't pull me over. Except one time I got stopped by a motorcycle cop.

i know very well where i stand in the public eye with that many tickets... posted up here invites plenty of criticism and I welcome that too, it's what allows us to improve, knowing that we're wrong.

while I was getting pulled over, you guys were sailing past giggling at my misfortune, just doing what i can to take the heat, that's all...

you sir are a tool... your car looks like xhibit "pimped" it... aka riced it out... sorry bro, but i don't think anyone on here is envious of your civic wannabe... thats prolly why you got pulled over, besides of course driving like a douche... and you say people learn from thier mistakes... you just learn really slowly. if i had 5 grand to piss away i sure wouldn't wanna give it to the local fraternal order of police

hmm... $5k... turbo setup... plus all of that cf (is it cf? or just black to look cf?) and the stickers... I'd probably stroke it (the engine, not the car)

I am starting to think the s2000 is a cop magnet . I am 20 years old and just got a 06 s2000 with around 7500 miles on it. Anyway, today on my way to work from my lunch break a cop pulls me over and says I was going 57 in a 40, even though he didn't get me on radar or laser, I guess he just looked at me and pulled a number out of his ass. On the ticket it says he paced me, but I was not behind me the entire time, so he must of been on the side of the road and guessed my speed. Also, this was after I was stopped at a red light and was pulled over within 200 yards after the light, I did not gun it, so I am pretty sure there is no way I went that fast in that short amount of time. Anyway, do you find yourself harassed by the cops a lot in this car?
I have not read all three pages of this thread, but I've got to comment on the original question. Take a look at my car (in my signature below). It is a rolling billboard advertising CCR. Big banner down the side saying "Cool Cat [b]Racing[/]." Nothing like putting a big sign on the car that tells the cops you're a racer of some sort. Do they notice? You bet your asp they notice. Do they ever pull me over? Sometimes. The last time a cop pulled me over, he'd just clocked me doing 74 in a 45. He pulled me over, asked me if I knew how fast I was going, told me I was going 74, and then asked me if we had the supercharger on the car yet. I responded by offering to raise the hood and let him take a look; Then, after we'd looked at and talked about the car for a while, we went on about our business. He never even warned me or suggested that I slow down, because I wasn't actually driving too fast for the prevailing conditions, and all the cops around here know CCR, me, and my car.

Cops approach me all the time. They want to know about and look at the car. I have YET to have a cop give me a hard time.

MAYBE the difference is more the driver than the car. What do you guys do when you spot a cop? I smile and wave. I treat them all like old friends, and they respoond in kind. Is it possible that you bring the harassment on yourself?

the 'i hate cops, cops are out to get me' attitude ends up being kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy. treat them with respect and you'll generally get the same.

I did a ride along with a friend of mine. I don't think he once paid any extra attention to a car simply because it was nice.

I am glad you said this.

I was perusing another site, S2KHumanDrivers.com, and the cars posting there started a similar thread called, "Is your Human Driver a Cop Magnet?".

I happen to have some friends that could get pulled over by SWAT and half-a-dozen squads while driving a Big Wheels, and they would have deserved it.
