Sounds like Inline Pro found some more victims. Congratulations on the motor build up. Enjoy it while it lasts, if Inline Pro built it then it won't last for long.

quyksyrt- good luck with the 05 model you are going to need to ditch the 8k redline its going to hurt you pretty bad cause you get vtec the same time as the older models adn dont have the same top end interested to see what it does with just 8k redline, becuasse you do still make the same peak ponies stock as the 2.0L with a thousand less rpms. I think you may make the same peak power as the 2.0l but the old ones will pull top end in a race but you may have a better tourque advantadge lower in the revs.

buzilanga- numbers should be here this week the car has 900mi. hopefully it will go to the shop on monday night or tues for finall tuning and dyno runs. the numbers wil kinda be useless to you becuase if you go FI you wont have near the compresion i do so the motor in it slf will make less but the real question is how much can you make with boost and 2.5L you should be able to run a bigger turbo with the 2.5L as opposed to the 2.0L. I encourage you to do this i believe its going to be inlines plan for the s2000 drag car if it happens we must solve the LSD problem before the drag car will be sconsidered seriously though. What will more then likely end up happening is some one will try the FDrx-7 rear end swap or the 300zx rear end with custom driveshaft and axles i dont see any one spending time to fortify it enough to withstand the beating of launching on the track day in day out.

Gernby-the AFC sttigngs are as follows: Thr. points Lvt Ne points Nar thr.
25% Hi 1000rpm -10
45% Low 2000rpm -15
3000rpm -15
4000rpm -15
5000rpm -10
The Hvt setting are untuned so they dont matter the injectors are just dumpin fuel. The stumbling doesnt happen anymore the trick is all in what you tell the car to do as long as you go about the right way you can keep the AFC from screwing up.

Kwando- i agree there coming, these things take time no one wants those graphs mor ethen me beleive me ive been waiting for them.

Highrpmek- dont know your experiences with them, but im sure your reasons for disliking inline are sound ones to you. Your about the second person ive ran across who has this vision of inline so im gonna half to say you guys are in the few here. My experiences with them have been quite good between me and my freinds car tehy do alot fro me and my freind andthey have been a pleasure to work with on this project. I have seen inline engines last for well over twenty thousand miles. The types of motors and cars that come out of inline are very high performance thus over driving them miss-using them changing, tuning and other parts all disrupt what inline puts out, im not accusing you of this all im saying is ive heard and seen of more then one circumstance where these cause the faluires of their work. Basicly things like that are going to happen its part of the nature of the busness they run and in the end its typically the customers fault and of course there are exceptions.

Quicksyrt- hes not dissing me personaly, infact he congratulated me clearly ryan dislikes inlinepro which he is very well entitled to his opinion no matter his reasoning.

That sounds like a REALLY screwed up tune! You are using the LVT corrections and NOT the HVT corrections?! That is completely backwards! The factory fuel maps will be a moving target all the time! What is rich now could be dangerously lean later due to learning!

gernby i roughly understand what your saying although it is slightly above my head. wehn you refer to the target what do you mean? it is defenetly staying on the rich side i catch tomany backfires from the car for i not to be. Inline set my tune up and i [B]not[B]have touched it so in this circumstance im just followiing directions.

Previously we talked about the engine being 25% bigger, so 25% bigger injectors might do the trick and some mild tuning with the VAFC. But as Inline have entered -10% to -15% it's fairly obvious that this assumption doesn't hold up in the real world.

But here is the problem. If the VAFC is inadequate and you have a problem you may or may not have recourse with Inline. But if you change the tuning device (and if these settings are what is required then you need an AEM as the E-manage pulls fuel in the same way as the V-AFC) then have a problem Inline may say warranty is void.

What I mean by moving target is that the ECU is constantly monitoring the narrowband O2 sensor to alter its fuel maps while it is in closed loop mode. Closed loop is the state that occurs while NOT at wide open throttle AND when below some RPM threshhold. Because the ECU is going to optimize its own fuel maps during closed loop, you should configure the VAFC to do NOTHING during this time. The VAFC should ONLY perform corrections while the ECU is in open loop mode (when the ECU is running with factory default maps).

Basically, the only way you can know what the outcome of MAP voltage corrections are going to be is to be sure when the corrections are made, the ECU is in open loop mode (wide open throttle and high RPMs).

BTW, is you ECU backup fuse still in place? If it is NOT there, the ECU will not learn to tune out the VAFC, but it won't ever run very well at partial throttle. If it is in place, and you leave the VAFC configured as it is, it will not run consistenly. The desirable setup is to setup the VAFC correctly, so you can leave the backup fuse in.
