Default Central locking operation questions

Hi all, Ive got a few questions regarding the S2000 central locking system

The car is a UK '03 with the two button key fob shown below...

It is also worth noting the car currently has an inoperative passenger side door lock actuator, although I'm not sure it would have much effect on the rest of the system.

Questions:

1.

What is the correct way to unlock the boot from the fob? (mine is temperamental at best when repeatedly pressing the unlock button, and only seems to work in a scenario involving question 2)

2.

Is there a time delay preventing you from unlocking the car straight after it has been locked? (I find that if I lock the car and then want to unlock it straight away (left my phone in there etc) it will make a sound like its unlocking but wont actually unlock, funnily enough this is the time were the boot is most likely to open if I press unlock several times)

3.

When I do lock the car remotely, I can hear it lock about 3 times with about 10 second intervals in between, is this normal?

Any help appreciated and thanks in advance
