I apologize for posting that, I didn't see the timing gear was off.

If you do have to change the crank trigger wheel, don't you have to take off the crank pulley, the timing cover, and to do that don't you have to take off the oil pan(not exactly a quick repair)? We don't even know which crank angle sensor is on the car.

Besides checking the above you could also check what kind of crank sensor you got installed.
Here is a picture of old vs new, the new one has the connector right at the sensor so should be easy to identify.

if there is fuel getting to the cylinder I would think the imobi is fine. Sounds like a spark issue. Weather it’s there is no signal from the ckp/cmp or a fuse blown or something else is what I would be looking at.
