I use an open end and a monkey wrench. No big deal the thing you want to watch is when you tighten back up make sure not to over tighten it. I snapped the part that screws into the pan the first time I did it. Its aluminum and is weak. Just keep that in mind and you can do it with 2 open end wrenches. Have one secure the part that goes into that pan, that should never move during this process. Use the other to loosen and tighten the drain line connection

This is bad, allowing the rain to be BELOW oil level, drains should ALWAYS be above oil level.

...old thread. But I'm not sure I buy all that hype about the return. I can understand efficiency and having soft bends in the hose to maximize flow.

Example: Scienceofspeed, and greddy according to my understanding have you install the return to the drain, and that's just the two kits I have researched.
I'm not 100% comfortable thinking they would have u do this with factual evidence that it would prematurely cause center housing seal wear.

What about the oil inlet? Gotta be upwards of 80+ psi at times, even with the new ones liking restrictor's. What's it bump it down to 40-60 range maybe? No way backup reaches that high of a psi it would just push into pan.

These are just my thoughts and concerns on pretty much the lack of information regarding both sides really. Not trying to debate, hell ask me where my drain is lol I got a Canton.

Call any turbo or supercharger manufacturer. And ask. I talked to Jamie about it from Paxton, and he strait up said these companies aren't worried about the Paxton or turbo it's self, cause if that unit goes they will tell u to contact the manufacturer. And they will tell you did you read the turbo/blower dos and don't. They clearly say, return above oil level.
