Default Want to replace my clutch

I have a MY00 with the clutch resonance issue. I thought about putting the money elsewhere but figure the car should be in top shape before I try and make more power. I do not plan to run any form of F/I, nor do I want to replace my differential. So Im leaning towards running an 03 disc and an aftermarket pressure plate. Please recomend a good PP.

Do I need to replace my flywheel with an 03 unit also?

My question is can I get all of this done for 650 installed? I have a good friend who will be doing the install, so he wont be charging too much.

have the flywheel checked for wear and scoring - I had tsb-054 done but i suspect they did not check the flywheel and the new cluch is gone in less than 5k miles.... if the flywheel was worn or scorn then the new clutch would not seat properly and cause a premature failure

DSM says the clucth is gone because of owner abuse (never)

check the flywheel

Ok, I will, but Im kinda SOL since Im having my friend do it. I dont want to spend the extra money on the flywheel, and get into, and not need it, but if I dont, and have it tworn apart and do need, I wont have the new one to replace the old one with.

Can anyone recomend a clutch setup for me, and can this be done, isntalled and all for 650?

Just check the flywheel to make sure there is not scoring or excessive wear.

I'm sure you'll be in your budget if your doing this yourself. picking up mine tonight and they charged 1500.00 - 10 hours labor and 750. for the parts

check with Jeff aka Hardtopguy as his price was about 150.00 less than my dealership for the parts (clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, throw out bearing)

The two common pressure plates seem to be the ACT and the Mugen plates.

I went with the Mugen plate and got the OEM parts from hardtopguy.com.

As for doing the install for 650... Thats going to be very tough. If you go with a nice Pressure Plate that one piece will run you just under $400.
