Nice, scallops are tasty especially the fresh ones. Which do you prefer Lainey Sea or Bay scallops?

I like sea scallops. My connection came through with several pounds of scallops. Looks like these are bay scallops. They don't have that sweet smell I expect when I open a bag of fresh scallops. Hope they are tasty. I just prepared some with some cracker stuffing. Will bake them in a bit.

Got stroppy at work today, told them I was tired of pathetic pay rises and lack of recognition of my abilities and knowledge, and asked for a significant increase. Manager asked how much I wanted, I told her I know what I could get contracting so to go get me a number and bring it back. Thirty years working for this company dammit, show me some respect.

I expect a pathetic offer.

When the manager asked you how much you wanted why didn't you tell them?

Because if they give the first number I have a starting figure to aim above, and it locks in their first offer as the absolute minimum I'll end up with. If I give a number up front they'll aim lower than that one, locking in my number as the absolute maximum in the negotiation, and I'd risk going in lower than what they may have been prepared to go up to.

In other news, we're so desperate here in NZ for Covid death numbers (for some bizarre reason) that we're counting people who died with Covid but of completely unrelated causes...like guns:

Heading out shortly for my colonoscopy. Yesterday's prep wasn't too bad. I tried a new one called Clenpiq. There are two small bottles you drink several hours apart. Not a lot to choke down and the taste wasn't bad, just salty and thick. Then you drink a designated amount of water. I'm going to ask for this stuff from now on.
Today will be the easy part, just lay down, get knocked out and that's it. Dream of food I can have when I wake up.

Good luck. Glad the prep wasn’t too bad. The designated amount of water is an issue for me. I’m not one who drinks a lot of fluids. As they say the prep is the worse part.

I got a mixed plate that included bay scallops - - ok, but nothing great - - shrimp was better. Sadly we don't have any really good seafood places close by.
