Touch pad or mouse?

Never liked touchpads...to imprecise. I had to use them on all the servers here for a long time since all the servers in a rack are controlled from one keyboard/video/mouse unit that only had a touchpad or an "eraser" stick (on IBM keyboards). Don't like the sticks much either. Some of my users have a trackball so when I am working with their PCs I get to use those. Not very good at it but I can see where they would be a good ergonomic choice vs. mice.
Now that we use remote desktop for almost everything and most of my servers are virtual, I've probably forgotten how to use a touchpad.
My first experience with a mouse was on a mark 1 Apple Macintosh at work.
