Our local news is reporting areas of Houston have received between 16-20 inches of rain. That's an incredible amount of water for any area, but especially for the bayou city.

The rain has temporarily weakened in the last hour, but it looks pretty bad here. Over a thousand homes have been flooded so far, many that have never flooded in storms before. The creeks and bayous are overflowing, and the rain is really just beginning. This is how our front yard looks right now. The water is inching up the driveway toward the garage, but the house floor level is higher, so not in danger. But some of the houses in the neighborhood are flooded already.
