GF and I went a friend's wedding. It got her talking about things we liked/disliked for our eventual "nuptials" (I think it's in 2024... she won't let me propose, yet)

We had a COVID scare in the family. GF's daughter got infected by 2 coworkers. She hung out with my son/wife, after exposure, but before turning Positive. She also had a small Christmas meet-up with her Mom (my GF) and her grandmother (GF's Step Mom).

Thankfully, all of us (including the daughter's 8 year-old daughter) are all Negative. GF and I are dealing with a touch of sinus issues. We are still taking all precautions (she's a Nurse, after all), so we feel safe going to work.

When I was married, I'd tell me kids "duck and cover" when their dad came home pissy. He never hit them but he wasn't fun to be around.

I never watch sports on TV. I know my honey loves the Seahawks and Broncos, my son loves the Patriots, son's wife is a Green Bay Packer fan... I have zero-zilch interest except for their reactions.

It's probably not a well-known thing in the US, but the NZ All Backs* rugby team is generally regarded as the most successful team in any sport. Unfortunately that means the public has come to expect them to win, and on the odd occasion when they don't, domestic violence stats go up as disgruntled idiots take it out on their family. It's amazing how emotionally invested people can get into sport. I guess if someone's addicted to betting big sums on sports then it could seep into their family life, but otherwise, relax, it's just a game. And I say this as someone who was mercilessly teased at school every time Australia (where I was born) was beaten by NZ, which was almost every time.

*The "All Blacks" name always seems to raise eyebrows in the US, so I'll set the record straight. The national team wears an all-black strip - black jersey, black shorts, black socks, and have done so pretty much since the beginning. A bunch of the players happen to be Maori or Pasifika, but that's inconsequential. No one here notices, or cares.

I'm going to undecorate and put all the Christmas decorations back in the attic. If I get the gumption I may organize the attic and box things up.

The absence of falling needles and fire risk certainly diminishes the urgency of taking the tree down.

We are having cold temps (20s) with snow tomorrow. So probably will not be outside much.

Saturday, we celebrated my son's 30th and 31st Birthday...thank you Covid. My son, his wife, her Dad and Step-Mom and my GF were attendance.

That evening, we settled in with the GF's granddaughter to watch Encanto. Good flick.

Unless something more pressing comes along (almost guaranteed), I'll be sorting out the workshop next weekend. Picked up some used pallet racking from a warehouse yesterday, and naturally it rained for the first time since early December.

It's going to be fun clearing everything out to put this up, then move everything back in again.

Three racks, each 8ft high x 10ft long x 3ft deep. Five shelves on each rack, so an extra 450sqft of storage. Ten shelves will be mesh steel and hold up to 4,000lb each, while 5 shelves will be MDF, and hold up to 1,800lb each. *Tim Taylor grunt*

Is that for an outside set up? That looks like some serious shelving - more than a one person put together.

If done right it can be setup by one person. We did it many times but two people is easier.
