This coming weekend I leave for a "little" road trip. My daughter is walking in the Southern California MS 50 mile walk. She has done this before but this year it is more important to her as it is the tenth anniversary of her mother (my late wife) succumbing to the effects of MS. Also, my daughter was diagnosed with MS one year before her mother passed away.

I decided that I would surprise her at the finish line so I get a little vacation in San Diego!

Can you say road trip?
All I got to say, Scoots, is ! Hope you have a great trip, especially knowing the back story.
I agree. Well done Dad.

This is Marine Corps Marathon Day here, which is always a very big event in our neighborhood (and a huge impact with street closures, so we leave the cars in the garage). We went down the street with our cowbells a couple of blocks to watch the runners go by at Mile 1 (starts on 110 by the Pentagon). May go back later, but can see a lot just by looking out the balcony windows. The race still ends by the Iwo Jima Memorial, but nowadays you can't stand right next to the finish lanes in the circle due to security. It was really fun in the old days to be right at the end to cheer the runners across, some of whom crawl the last few yards. Not allowed to touch them, so it can be agonizing.

I think most peeps would think of Sun as the last day of the weekend. It's an existential question, however. What is the true meaning of weekend?

That's a tough one..this weekend is just about over so now "this" weekend is the upcoming one.

However as part of the current weekend which is just about ending, we enjoyed some time with old pals. Talk of annoying kids, crickets and the good luck/back luck they may bring, beer, and grandkids kept us laughing.

On to "this coming weekend" not much happening yet, dinner with a friend on Saturday.
