I used some Super Tech Engine Degreaser you buy at Wal-Mart. On the can it says it contains liquid and extremely flammable gas, so because of the gas this is petroleum based right? I only cleaned my engine bay once and sprayed it anywhere that had dirt and such. At 37k miles from the looks of it I don't think it's ever been cleaned by the previous owners. I find it interesting that they wash the car often but not under the hood. And I still had some stuff of that in my house so why buy more? Am I still ok by using it only once? I don't want to keep using it just to find out I'm ruining my belt, radiator hoses, and such.

Just something to keep in mind when dealing with "Environmentally friendly" degreasers. People think that just because it says environmentally friendly, bio-degradeable or non-toxic on the bottle that it's safe do an engine cleaning in their driveway and let the run-off go down the public sewer system.
They may be environmentally friendly and non-toxic out of the bottle but once you allow that degreaser to do its job (remove oil, grease and dirt from the engine bay)... it's contaminated.

Those are Tein hood dampers, available from any good speed shop, for around$100.00,and fit every S 2000 model;very easy to install.(+- 10 minutes,no holes to drill.)
And you can throw that hood prop rod in the garbage.
