Hi guys,
I documented my windshield tape removal. Follow the link: windshield tape
Thanks for setting me straight on this. Despite my paint scuffs, I'm happy with it off.
Best wishes from friggin' scorchin' New England!

Although I hate to admit when I am wrong, in this case I have to. I haven't Zainoed in nearly 5 weeks. I wash my car about once a week and I must admit that the Zaino is still working. In fact, after washing (with Zaino carwash) it was as smooth as the day that I first Zainoed. I should let you know that the car is outside (no garage) and it is a daily driver. I definitely have not had the same experience with Zymol on my wife's 2000 Accord. I have Zymoled twice in the 5 weeks and it definitely wears off fast (especially with washing).
I still stand behind that I cannot see much of a difference between a freshly Zainoed and Zymoled car. But in this case, the Zaino folks definitely have the edge when it comes to longevity.

Looks great, cbj!
Two things:
1. 5 coats of what.... Z-5 or Z-2 (or mix). So far on mine, I've got 2 coats of Z-5, and I'm gonna use Z-2 next time (soon!). I, too, owe this thread a picture!
2. You might wanna consider windshield tape removal. I had scratches on my paint underneath, but I like the look better nonetheless (especially top down).

Thanks- it's 5 coats of Z2 w/ZFX. I wanted to give the ZFX a try and do some multiple coats right off the bat. From here on out I'll probably just do the occasional coat of Z2, and then either more ZFX or Z1 every six months. I have some Z5 but so far my paint is still in good shape, so I'll hold off on that until I need it.
I've thought about removing the tape, but I kind of like the car as is. Then again I actually think the orange indicators look ok too, so go figure. I've only seen one car in person with the tape off and while it looked alright it didn't do anything for me. I guess I like the fact that the black tape blends in with the top and also gives the windshield the appearance of being shorter.

That's cool, cbj. Yeah, my paint was in good shape too. I'm looking forward to applying the Z-2. The Z-5 was great all by itself, but I wanna be "optically perfect"

I agree cbj, I thought for sure I'd take my tape off and now I feel the same way you do. I think it smoothes things out having it black. It makes it look more streamlined IMO.
As soon as I get my hands on a decent digital camera I'll post pics of my Suzuka with 5 coats of Zaino as well.
BTW, Zaino also works great on the head/tail lights, rims and glass. I was in rain for the first time the other day and it was coming down pretty good for about the last 8 minutes of my trip and I never even had to turn on the wipers!
