Right. wrinkle paint doesn't wrinkle in the cold apparently and Dorris is not for me painting it in the house so it goes back on naked for now
found this info

The VHT wrinkle paint is hard work
It looks ok but not perfect
There are patches where it hasn't wrinkled.
I would not advise doing it indoors, the spray is very bad for overspray, got it all over me and the floor so had a lot of cleaning to do
I will do another light coat and add some heat gun action into the mix before it goes back on
Pain in the arse job. I would not advise trying the wrinkle coat unless you really want OEM look (this car is pretty much standard). I would also avoid this as a winter job due to the need to paint above 16C and warmer is better meaning you will paint half you house in it
Ensure you clean the surface and key with a very fine sand
- Must be warm
- Apply a thin tac coat
- Heat with hair dryer for 5 mins
- Apply another thin coat (horizontal)
- Heat with hair dryer for 5 mins
- Apply thin coat vertical
- Heat with hair dryer 5 mins
- Apply thin diagonal coat
- Heat with hair dryer 5 mins

That gel looks like it did a good job stripping the paint, I'll be doing this soon so that's good to know!
For the VHT wrinkle, I did my mx5 cam cover and I think it says to lay the last coat on thick not lightly, that's what helps it wrinkle, mine came out well despite doing it outside but I then had it in a hot conservatory to cure which I think helped. The areas I didn't get so thick didn't wrinkle the same.

Colour looks spot on now
I think I remember the paint spraying badly when I was doing it too, bit blotchy but came out ok in the end.
Also maybe wearing antlers whilst doing it helps too?!

and done, along with a valve clearance
I found taking the feeler gauges apart helped
I lost the PCV grommet down the side of the engine (outside, inlet mani somewhere)
My advice, install that off the car along with the two sensors!
