Noisy gear change

Rahul:
2 ideas. Either the manifold heatshields (of which there are several), or the "ringing shifter" problem.
It's simple to test if it's the ringing shifter. Simple accelerate, and when the noise starts, press the gear level against the side of the gate. If the noise stops, it's the ringing shifter problem. If you search from "ringing shifter" in under-the-hood, you'll find how to solve it. A simple case of a lot of grease on the bottom of the gear shift stops it.
If it's not the shifter, take someone from your dealer out to hear the noise.

Rahula,
Can't believe it, but I too have that same metallic noise. Under deceleration I have heard it but also when cranking the thing right up only above 4500rpm.
In fact went into the dealership today and went out for a spin with the S2 tech. He heard it eventually and they are going to take it off me for 3 days while I am away. He couldn't put his finger on it but wasn't overly concerned.
They are more than happy to check it out, good bunch down my way. I will keep you posted.
