Not possible in front. They would need a pull for the 245 tire.

I have a 2008 AP2 S2000 with stock wheels. I bought a set of Advanti's which are +45 offset , fronts 215/35/18 and rears 245/35/18 which are 8" and 9" width.. Both rear and fronts are rubbing, I dealt with them by raising the car a little which I use HKS coilovers. Now it rubs a little when there's a bumpy road, but the handling is a nightmare. At high speeds about 140+ the rear of the car feels loose, and its very hard to control the car. You try to pass the guy in front of you and make a maneuver, VSA light comes on asap. It's like you are sailing with a boat. The car sways about its longitudinal axis at high speeds. When braking its as if the rear tries to come forward first.

I know many people here uses 18 wheels so why may this be happening? I switched back to oem wheels and its all right now.

The front tires were Toyo Proxes and rears were Bridgestone potenza s001's . May be because of the tire difference? I did an alingment with new tires and everything was looking fine. The coilovers are HKS Hypermax 3 set to softest setting , fronts 61mm rear 63mm.

It is a number of things. The mis matched tires is a big no no. Get the same all the way around. The tires likely have different sidewall stiffness and grip charactieristics and that is likely causing an imbalance in the handling.

Next why didn't you roll the fenders? You are going to damage them. Even with raising the car up get them rolled.

On the alignment when was it done? After you raise the car? Before? What were your specs before and after?d

Thank you for the reply. I want to buy a match set to fronts but I really dont want to spend anymore money if this will be a problem again. Can S2000 handle 18" wheels normally? Or should I completely forget about 18" and look for something 17" ?

I wanted to roll them but before rolling I wanted to be sure everything was set.

Alignment was done with those 18 wheels and the car was worse before alingment. Before I used oem V2 rims with same ride height and same stifness. Today I switched back to OEMs with no re-alignment and now the car handles properly.

I really dunno what causes this, theres only one chance that mis match wheels may be the problem but the same tires were used on another S2k and he says I had no such problem.

Maybe the problem is rear ride height. Its higher than front and I cannoy lower it more to prevent rubbing.

Let me say this very simply. It's the tires. Do you oem wheel have all the same tire on them? All broken in the same amount of miles? It's because you have 2 different kind of tires. If you'd watched you'd see plenty have 18 inch wheels with zero problems. You tried to save money in one place you should spend it and that's on the tires. The wheels have little to no effect on handling aside from the width of tire you out on. Also I just noticed your front tires are the wrong size. The proper size for the front is 215/40/18. Buy the right tires. Get the fenders rolled. Set ride height where you want it and get the alignment dialed in.

Hi guys and girls,

I've got a problem in New Zealand I need a hand with.

I've only owned my AP1 a few weeks, and I hate the standard rims, I was in a rush, big mistake, and I bought some CE28N's. Lovely rim, BUT I did no homework, and I've ended up with what I think is going to be a mistake.

They are:
18x8.5 +38 Front
18x9.5 +40 Rear.

I really want/ed 235 and 245/255, BUT I see now in the first post I might be doomed with that combination?

It's not low, yet, but it will be, and I'd PREFER not to roll and cut the car up...

Help and Opinions please!!!

So it seems my new wheels will not fit based on the guide on the first page.

My new wheels specs are 17x7.5 +40 and 17x8.5 +40. Tires will be 215/45 and 255/40.

Can someone please let me know what fender work needs to be done in order for these to fit with out rubbing?

Will a fender roll on front and rear and negative camber adjustment be enough?

Any help is appreciated.
