WBAC says c£14k so it's lost >50% of it's new price in just under 3.5 years but to me, £11k in 3 years or c£300 a month
Bad but maybe expected? I don't know, maybe I should read the early posts here?
A new GT line EV6 is c£45k
a 2022 low miles car can be had for £30k so pretty steep depreciation curve
that EV9 (the blue land rover type thing) will be even worse I think, so 65-75k now will be 40-45k next year so never say never
I expect an EV6 will continue to shed money but at £30k in it feels less risky. I hope to not bother to change again anytime soon and it will be a dog and fam wagon as the boy grows
It would be cheaper to keep the e for sure and I will miss the little mario kart 100%
The EV6 weighs 2.1t ffs and is a big old beast
But the battery tech impressed me. Their warranty is not as good as the Honda one though but it is an 800v system with integrated temp control to extend life so can charge super fast on occassion. It also has a heat pump to harvest heat from the car to heat the cabin to improve efficiency
I expect your honda dealer will shrug if you ask about v2h but this guy knew what I was asking about and he claimed they have set the car up to support significant draw from the charge socket.
the tech seems better but there are gaps
I'd love to keep the e as well but...
Kia
For Kia’s standard 7-year warranty, the battery warranty threshold is 70%. Therefore, Kia will cover any repairs or replacements if your electric car battery drops below 70% capacity within 7 years from the date of purchase
Chap has to pay a price to minimise family exposure to the inside of a toxic waste container I agree at £30k for a 2022 vehicle you'd assume the dep curve is flattening.
As for V2L the 'e' has got that already albeit 5A limit. Honda will surely have to fix the DC charging issue on the 'e' to retain credibility (yes I know low flying pigs!)

On the Kia it's through CCS though there is a socket somewhere too like the e
On charging the osprey basically sat and clicked a lot and said it had started but never moved off 0kwh supply
After a few mins the charging light above the CCS on car turned flashing red and the machine report failure
No message inside car. I haven't tried to rapid since.
Parked next to one today. On looks it's a no contest, the e exudes future chic, the 6 more of a lard arse batmobile
So I put a few deets into our salary sacrifice scheme to see the numbers (I, like anyone my age, pay 40% tax so thought it was worth a look as not a big fan of that)
ID4 is £577 a month net (£903 gross)
EV6 £594 net (£926 gross)
£7.2k a year
Now the EV6 was launched on a 71 reg which is late 2021 so c2 years old max, you can buy a launch car for £27k which has seen £19k depreciation at current prices or £14k at launch price.. thats £700 a month
So new it only makes any sense to lease through the BIK scheme, a saving of £100 a month doesnt give me wood though
2023 cars start at £35k so would expect to lose £10k on one in a year £833 a month - company scheme still winning
I have no data to chart what a launch car is worth in a year other than to extrapolate, £10k in year 1, £8k in year 2, maybe it would be £6k in year 3 or £500 a month which is not hugely cheaper than the company scheme
You can see why people do
Over 3 years a bought new might lose £24k (£8k a year)
A year old car might lose £18k (£6k a year or £500 a month)
When in and out of my local Kia dealers(last employer) I’ve seen a lot of ev6s, car colour makes quite a difference to it’s look to me, my wife wanted a certain colour which meant she landed an xCeed petrol, much cheaper.

My beef is modern ice motors are just not appealing in family sized cars. The advantage of BEV is the torque nullifies the weight in terms of urgency and the skate plank of the e makes it handle a bit.
I dunno what the EV6 is like in this, driving one next weekend and then the EQC after that. I think it's a 2 horse race currently or 3 if the Niro BEV is any good
0-60 of 8 or less is a minimum standard for a dick like me, I have no patience
Illustrates a 2 horse race I thought (sorry I couldn't find a photo with 3 horses)
Seriously got to admire how low Honda slung the 'e' main battery. Makes all the difference as can be seen in your photo Jason
Drove the EV6 and knowing my own painfully demanding needs decided that was the one. Never tried the Merc, the shared ICE platform means there is a dynamic cost for the EQC whereas the 6 is standard EV plank and it felt right.
So GT line S AWD deal done.
I am genuinely gutted to see the e go. It was/is a car I really loved but the kid and dog outgrew it and it became a pain in the ass to take on short breaks due to no space.
The range never bothered me though it was very poor in winter
I will miss this car and may regret this decision
The tech and equipment on the Kia is impressive. The warranty huge. It's also quick. Will probs collect in a couple of weeks.
I never envisaged paying this dollar for a Kia that was almost as quick as my old M3... Let's see how it goes
