Harry Metcalfe's pointing out the battery deg, aside from the network strain, steers me away. Seems to be pure ignorance to the issue by Manu's.
Wouldn't it be nice if we were to live with lithium batteries for the long term, to have the ability to remove your power bank, and replace with what you want.. i.e bigger battery, changeable from the boot. Cheaply. Beef up suspension like the 5 to cope with such a personal change as it adds weight. You then have a range you need, less anxiety, rather than accepting limitations to use.. City car or motorway muncher, you can then choose without planning Ginster pasty stops for 200mile plus slogs at 80p per kWh. Supercharging twats battery health.
Sodium batteries, and Toyotas disruptive battery that's possibly incoming may affect that idea. Probably not enough yet to get cracking to produce.
Fancy MMI design and interiors are masking the market from the issue. Used, they'll be worth peanuts - people are catching on, including Firms. If you are after an EV, could be better to wait a while if it's personally yours and a long termer.
Tesla is desperate in need for a super bland makeover. Go all out concept design, it may be a winner.
This is all forgetting how they drive, lacking character (the e managed that somehow which is why it's liked) and instant quiet shove.
There's nothing like driving with the throttle and addressing inputs on spirited drives, using engine braking not inertia. Seems those days are over

There were no bidirectional chargers on the market last I looked. The Kia does it but not enough grunt..you really want a 5kw inverter
And a massive battery so you don't give a shit. 50kwh would work for me
half my electric costs me 7.5p a kWh, resulting in an AVG rate of c18p - only slightly higher than pre Ukraine war
edit to say if the e had it I would use, would save me c£90 a month
I happily run my S to work twice a week, idgaf what it costs to be honest, but it's about 9 Quid a day in Super U/L. That will change to 3 times a week in autumn, hence the change by then to a luxo wafter. It's 18 soon and daily driving will rot the bugger out.
Most EVs on the road are firms cars, well, on the motorway. Or on senseless finance deals where it's on the knock at a big premium. Chatting to a vendor today at work - he has an iX1. His Mrs has an Octopus tariff scheme so she gets 20% off the finance deal through her work - as a company car. Hope that made sense, I'm trying to remember what he said precisely.

It's basically the lease cost is before tax, so if you pay 40% (everyone does now
) then a £1k lease is less than 600 (also no NI)
A £1k a month lease? I know. People do it.
Our work scheme is shyte but you could save your tax rate (unless you are just inside it
Tesla 3 and Y are cheap ATM but not cheap enough
I considered leasing but the work scheme was terrible, I could get a Pvt lease cheaper so no benefit, just a risk if you leave

Welll you can lease a Tesla 3 2019 for some £ 275/month and you only have to pay 6 months lease upfront. You also get 6 month's warranty. I am actually tempted but as I am in no need of transport ATM more than the occasional trip to the golf course I will hedge my bets for a while. That said zooming around in a Tesla? I'd feel smug. https://www.nationwidevehiclecontrac...plus-auto-my19
That's not what it says on the internet. But anybody who believes what it says on the internet needs his head examined. My neighbour has a 3 year old Model 3, I'll ask him to take me for a spin.
Anyways, if you are down for a BEV now is a good time. The charging concerns are not a biggy to me
The interior is as bland as the exterior. 'cept for the massive screen in the middle. Which I'm not a fan of personally. Too much information, shadows of cars around you and ahead with it's 'clever' 360 cameras is all a bit of a distraction, and something for the kids to ogle at. Never mind farting rear seats, and logs on fire screensavers. Amusing it is, but distracting.
I think we forget we're meant to be paying attention to all the other twillocks piddling about on Instagram whilst driving. No wonder insurance is a bomb. Some days it's a battle down'th 'Them 6, M62 dodging wandering, lane hoggers who you know are swiping on their phone. Tend to be young chicks or lads - sharing a meme, tiktok or summat else not important.
They should look ahead and dodge the pot holes!
