All those tanks look the bleedin' same to me and are ever more prevalent. It's primarily why I'm generally losing interest in driving.

It's a good question, though - only you are in a position to answer it.

I'd not like to predict the residuals on the Eezer, though - rarity vs tech that will be out of date in five years, unless there is a Frankenstein battery option.

I can only see BEVs as some kind of runaround and an ICE would be required for the more fun/long-range stuff, so you'd still probably need two cars anyway.

it was more rhetorical i guess
i would have use for the ezah good. i have 3 years of school runs at least yet

depreciation could be truly horrific, you, or i, could protect via a lease which appeals to me in this case

having a car with a battery as fooked as the one in my old iphone doesnt appeal

Exactly my take @Nick Graves

I am wondering whether the liquid H/fuel cell technology will come to fruition within say 5 years or less.

If it does (that site was educational Nick but not much by way of crystal ball gazing) the residual value of today's EVs will not be much more than that of the current steroidal hybrids. The eHonda is full of advanced thinking and that appeals but sinking from £30k new on the road to £5k value in five years is worse depreciation than any ICE car I have ever owned. Jason, be interesting to do a comparison of your BM v eHonda for loss of capital + running costs. 'Twould be a lot closer?

I've always wonder what real world range is..

ie say i drive 210 miles to the NW on a cold wet winters night doing 85 on motorway. so 4 hours of heating. 4 hours of lights. 4 hours of windscreen wipers. I'd bet a '320 mile range' Tesla wouldnt get there.
I do think EV makes a lot more sense for those who drive short ranges in cities and maybe have 2 cars anyway.

it would be but i dont have a crystal meth lab.. i mean ball

the BM has probably lost 16k ish in 8 years or so.. ok depreciation. it does everyday well but the running costs are high ish

if the e is worth 5k after 5 years that is pretty catastrophic.. hence my lease idea. it could happen

that vid i posted showed real range of some popular evs.. the germans were ze vorst at c75pc

In terms of hydrogren, shipping is seriously look at ammonia longer term which with the use of catalyst can be burnt to produce nothing more than nitrogen and hydrogen which is then pumped ino a fuel cell. cant see it working for cars but outside chance for truck but certainly oil burning trains and could also as a heating fuel in houses/buildings

Very positive review here http://www.thesun.co.uk/motors/10849420/honda-e-cool-electric-car/

Also price will be £26,160 to compete with Renault Zoe, BMW MINI and Vauxhall (PSA) Corsa.
