I ordered back in September last year.

It was suppoosed to come in July, but all of the customer cars have been sitting for a while waiting on a software upgrade from Japan apparently--the dealer demos didn't wait for this to be applied.

Not sure what the difference is, or if it's all just Honda UK/dealer hyperbole...

I'm waiting for HUK to tell me what the differences are between the 3 Honda chargers on offer and to get one installed before taking delivery.

i have had pretty poor service to date from my local Honda dealer, they know so little about the car and i finally got some info today regards a charger

the Honda e:PROGRESS charging stations are done on a quote basis after survey has been completed. Estimated costs are between £949 and £1499 depending on the extensiveness of the work. These prices are with the £350 OLEV grant applied.

The Honda e progress however is the only charger on the market with its own variable energy tariff which is specially designed to save money. This gives you the wholesale electricity price which means the Honda e:PROGRESS can schedule charging times with low cost energy, saving up to £475 a year compared to a standard aftermarket charger. Aftermarket chargers can be installed for around £500, so you will see cost benefit of the Honda e:PROGRESS after about 2 years.
makes it one of the most expensive chargers on the market

salesman crap at the end there obviously, to do 10k miles should, in theory be less than 100 (100 x 100) charges (assuming 100 miles per charge) which should be around 36 x 12p = £4.32 each so about £432..

it must therefore pay me to charge the car to save £475

and they do know i estimated 8k pa

suffice to say i wont be going down this route

i ordered with a bike rack and have so little faith they will get it right i am thinking of going direct to Honda

I am avoiding Honda, they are not charging specialists. I am going direct to local OLEV certified suppliers. It is a type 2 charge point scarcely rocket science.

Honda has altered my order to 16" wheels so I gain a little range for our Norfok-Sevenoaks trip of 129 miles to visit the grands

p.s. management choice of colour. Quirky, she says. Also the only colour without a £500 surcharge. Not brought oop i'Yorkshire fer nowt eh

Why are Chris' photos so much better than Honda's?

I like the nod to the old radio cassette screwed to the bottom of the dash - very '70s!

I thought the real reason for the delay was approval for the EV grant being delayed.

But since the Sheeplescar engineers cannot get their SW to work, it's plausible there was a problem with the e too.

You fooool, Notts!

You plug the e into a nearby Tesla, then take the 240vAC from the middle of the e's dash to charge your S2K.

Or something.

BTW, yellow is as bad as black for keeping clean; insects seem attracted to yellow cars and then shit all over them. White is slightly less worse.
